Funny Duck Farms is looking for helpers on the farm, or in the farm house. We've taken a few years off from hosting, but we miss the fun of new faces from new places!

We currently have space for 1 - 2 helpers from the end of August to mid to late October.

We are a small 230 acre family run farm that consists of me, my husband Aaron, (and our three kids) and my sister Jen. It's a very diverse, certified organic farm that raises chickens, ducks, turkeys, quail, sheep, pigs, beef and dairy cows.

The farm relies on the pasture grasses to bring the best out in each of the animals. We also have a small greenhouse and every year we expand our gardens, herb beds, and orchard.

We wild harvest many of the herbs that grow here and use them to create herbal teas, tinctures and skin care products. We also make butter, cheese, yogurt, and kefir with the milk from our milking cows.

We offer our customers a Whole Farm CSA that runs 50 weeks of the year, providing them with meats, veggies, and many other foods.

We are looking for helpers to assist with all or some of the following wide range of tasks:

Farm help:
-Basic daily chores (collecting eggs, feeding & watering animals, etc)
-Chicken processing
-Gardening & Wild Herb harvesting
-Farm fence & building construction
-Pasture preparation (rock picking, seeding, etc)
-Wood cutting and bush clearing

Farm House help:
-Meal preparation
-House cleaning

A helper may wish to assist with all, or only some of these tasks.

Offered is very simple and down to earth accommodation, as well as most meals made from the farms own food. What isn't grow on farm, we purchase from other local organic farms. Vegetarians and vegans please note: the majority of farm meals are meat and dairy based and it is very hard for us to accommodate any food allergies and intolerances.

We are looking for helpers that would like to stay a minimum of 3 - 6 weeks, or longer if everyone is happy!

The location of the farm is nestled between the Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes area, and is about an hours drive from the cities of Ottawa and Kingston. It is also only a few hours drive to either Toronto or Montreal.

Come stay with us, learn about organic farming, and become a part of our family! We've had amazing helpers stay with us, we hope that you will be next!
