This is a multi-purpose project in the middle of Drenthe, The Netherlands. It used to be an old gas-redistribution location. The core activity evolves around Personal training. The 2.5ha of estate around The facility is intended to be transformed in magnificent symbioses of nature, beauty, health, sports, sustainability, organic food, intellectual challenges and for all fun and relaxation.
We are looking for helpers who can help us realize this project.
The near future will be mostly about constructing all the things, but there is also lots of work to do during the whole year in maintenance, nursing, tending the garden etc...
Thinking and comming up with good ideas eg. creative thinking on how to re-use and recycle as much as possible, is also amongst the things you could do here.
The compound has indoor places to sleep, a semi open-air kitchen, showers, music room with instruments, a gym and loads more, all which can be used by the helpers during their stay.
Some of the things that need to be done/build on a short notice:
- Sauna room with infrared sauna, normal sauna and Jacuzzi (being painted atm.)
- Outdoor swimming pool, 1 hectare garden
- Water purification pond
- Big fishpond
- Irrigation systems for the entire complex
- The planting of hundreds of trees and bushes/plants
- Building a Yoga-hill
- Tending and nursing an authentic fruit orchard
- Driving around the area, spotting and picking up building materials (mostly recycle stuff)
- Working in the greenhouse (we set it up :) )
- Construction of a hen-house
- Making of wind- solar- and water power energy sources
- Creating a wildlife friendly environment within compound
- Making our own local area products, from our gardens (like apple-cider)
- Sweetcorn zone around the estate (half seeded)
- All kinds of electronic stuff, lighting, switches, fans
P.s. You don't need to be a professional constructor or gardener to help us do all these things, we just need a couple of extra hands :)
The location is in the backlands of drenthe, the nearest town with shops is about 5km away, but pickups from and to public transport hubs is not a problem.
Playing music and using all the facilities is encouraged, as well as spending some nice quality-time outside with a campfire, a nice wine and atmosphere. There is one room at the moment that functions as a bedroom, with a 2p bed, we will designate either another room with bed for helpers or build a Tipi-like heated tent in the garden (We will need help with that too ;). )
We are looking for enthousiastic helpers who help us build and maintain this project. Starting date: Summer 2011
You can stay for a shorter or a longer period and returning helpers are welcome aswell.
In addition to a fully equipped place to stay and very nice food, helpers are free to use all the facilities within the compound, such as the sauna-room, Washing machine, gym and future to build swimming pool.
There is a WiFi-Internet connection, which helpers can use.
