Hello HelpX travellers. We would love to have you join us for the best time of year on our beautiful farm. We currently have space for another person or couple. (Updated End April)

Our Farm is 45 mins west of Brisbane CBD, just past Samford at Cedar Creek, nestled in a small valley of tress, creeks, birds, butterflies, and peaceful breezes. We are looking for a mature couple or 1 - 2 Adults as our Helpers for 1 - 2 weeks with previous farm experience preferred.

Accommodation is either in the house with us (Air Conditioned room with double bed) OR in our cute and cosy vintage Camper Van with fresh sheets, towels, privacy, self contained toilet, shower, kitchenette, fridge and lounge type space for your private use. You are situated about 100 meters from the main house with gorgeous outlook over the hilly views. Which room depends on the best fit at the time and how it helps us too.

FOOD and MEALS - We supply standard grocery items (including special dietary requests within reason); a kitchenette to take care of Breakfast and lunch for yourself; evening meals are shared so we can catch up on each other's day and vary in relation to work and other daily activities. We enjoy a beer or wine now and then usually on the weekend after a days work. As it gets cooler we also enjoy times around our fire pit as it gets cooler.

We would expect you to share with meal preparation, clean up and cooking an evening meal on a roster basis as part of the shared cultural / community aspect to the Helpx journey.

HELP - 25 - 28 hrs of farm work a week (Depends on level of difficulty) (Does not include meal or any cooking / clean up of kitchen routines)

Typical tasks required - basic land care jobs such as weeding / repairing fences / planting trees / mowing and mulching. Other jobs we would like help with would depend on prior skills and experience but we would enjoy carpentry / painting / minor landscaping / chook pen enclosures. We also are open to ideas based on your personal interest and skill mix.

US - We are a busy family of Mum, Dad and 12 yr old with several animals (dogs, cows, horse, alpacas and a chook and rooster). We are NON - SMOKERS and family type people.

TRANSPORT - Having your own vehicle is an advantage out here but we can pick up from the train which is a 30 minutes drive away - so this needs to be worked out prior as we do not travel to the train every day. If it ends up being a special pick up we would be able to do so for a fee of $50.

We would love someone with an interest in music, cooking or sewing or anything crafty.

We do not have a lot of spare time to teach sadly - so we suit persons with prior farm experience; who can work independently; who are interested in land and tree care; who are mature persons who can pick up physical tasks quickly; and who love green spaces and to explore our backyard and local community.

Safe travels, and e-mail any questions you may have, see you soon perhaps .... Col and Jenny
