We are one of Ontario's Finest Inns & farm, 2 hours from Toronto near Collingwood & Georgian Bay with 125 acres of orchards, fields, trails & forests. Animals consist of Miniature, Icelandic & a Percheron horse, Reindeer, rare breed chickens, guinea fowl and pigs. Seasonal help needed throughout the year. Help always needed for animal chores, outdoor maintenance (grass and snow) and light houskeeping duties. Biodynamic beekeeping with two topbar hives onsite. Additionally in Spring flowers, vegetables, landscaping, orchard and soft fruit keep us busy. Summer brings pigs & raising organic chickens for meat. Summer finds us busy with the gardens, animals and trail maintenance. Fall brings us into Apple cider time and harvesting the bounty of the gardens. Winter/early Spring finds us clearing snow and helping with animals and setting up for Maple Syrup production, gathering and sugaring off the sap. Grapes are struggling. Lavender is thriving and picking and processing Lavender is now part of our ongoing maintenance as is making lavender jelly. Ongoing projects include wood chopping, trail maintenance, fence building, bringing in Hay and Capital projects We are a Natural Horsemanship facility and we provide (EAP) Equine Assisted Professional development sessions to companies and now offer trail riding on the Icelandic horses. People with riding skills (weight limit 200 pounds - 92kg) who can help on the trail are especially welcome. All volunteers need to be strong enough to pick up a bale of hay 45 pound and walk with a full pail of maple syrup 25 pounds.
2014 spring we will need for someone for leading trail rides (must have experience and certification)for 5 months. Must have valid work permit!

Time off provides time to ride horses, swim in the salt water swimming pool or pond, use the Inn's exercise facility and hot tub and bicycles are available. Wasaga beach is 20 minutes away for camping (tent provided) and the Bruce Trail is minutes away. Winter provides an opportunity to ski/Snowboard Blue Mountain and Snow Shoe our property and the Bruce Trail. Private room and shared bathroom, all meals provided. Volunteer T/V room and Internet provided. We ask our volunteers to join us for a minimum of one month as it takes time to become familiar with the routines. Work 5 days approx. 6 hours a day (approx.) and have two days off a week. Must be
energetic and fit.
