This year we cannot host people due to a personal accident...
Description of place:
Our tiny Finca is situated in a an eventual dry riverbed facing the Sierra Nevada.
At the moment the riverflow is quite vivid and the place is green and spotted with wild flowers...
It is quite a special place where you will experience one of the last traditional garden spaces of that area.
Today most of our neighbours cultivate huge and steep areas with caterpillar tractors.
Our place was only landscaped by a mule-plough. And we kept it like this, we do not even cultivate most of it, because we want to regenerate the natural plant cover of the land with its abundance of wild aromatic herbs and other medicinal plants...
We have established some important Indian healing herbs with the help of our mountain spring water.
For the harvest of almonds in September-October 2013 please go on reading:
We are both already over 50 years old and so it is a little difficult for us to beat our hundreds of almond trees which are scattered in the beautiful landscape for getting them down from the branches and down the mountain.
It is not a boring or stressful work but your body will need some time to get used to it. Therefore you should bring some time to get into it.
One of the borders of our beautiful place is a traditional mule path which is a very interesting walk with breathtaking views to the Sierra Nevada...
So please contact us early to help us with this beautiful but uneconomic work.
Our small house is quite isolated in that wild and rocky Alpujarra landscape of Granada province
preferably we would like to host a single person or a couple because we only have one big bed in our tiny guest sleeping room.
If you step out you stand amidst our grassy almond and oak forest...in the night it is very silent... eventual owls or the murmuring of the water in the rambla (eventual dry riverbed), a frog or a cricket are to be heard.
Natural chlorine free mountain spring water feeds our hot shower...
We are a couple of German nationals with English, some French and rudimental Spanish language knowledge.
You will like that quiet place...
For a week or so you are invited to live with us in that exceptional breathtaking landscape with much biological diversity - enjoy great views and loads of ripening figs.
Be prepared for a dense insect- and wildlife.
Reptiles and snakes are not dangerous and often too be seen..
It is possible that the harvest of this year will not very rich but my wife is disabled at the moment because of a serious spinal problem...she will need help in the kitchen, too...
you can use our kitchen or share our simple ovo/lacto - vegetarian wholesome food - loads of fresh figs, few grapes and lots of fresh almonds or its milk - if you help to prepare it...
The nearby village has wi-fi spots, hostels and meat/fish tapas for free (small portions of traditional meals along with alcoholic drinks - a nice old Granadino culture habit, which is absent from rest of Spain mostly)
Greatest advantage : a beautiful remote place -
if weather is nice, you can share our eventual trip to the coast for swimming...during rains we have to cancel hosting because our energy system will not be sufficient to run lights and water...
For detailed questions and to organize your trip to us better it is essential to contact us directly by phone because our internet is only to be checked eventually during our stay
So for secure planning it is absolutely necessary to contact us by phone in Spain; because our internet access is quite limited and not as quick as usual...
One more important thing to tell: We don't accept the use of commercial cosmetics or other perfumed detergents or anti-microbiological agents on our place, because all the water gets recycled for irrigation on our ground...
Muchas gracias - thank you - hope you gonna take this rare opportunity - because we are still changing between two countries and not permanently here.
