We live between Bantry and Skibbereen in a most beautiful part of West Cork, with spectacular views and wonderful wild mountain walks onto the Sheeps Head Way.
We are 5 kms from the sea on The Mizen peninsular with its fabulous beaches and hidden coves, and 5 kms from the villages of Durrus or Ballydehob (which has the nearest Public transport). We are very rural, and can lend you a bicycle to get around on.
We have dogs, Peacocks, hens, goats jand a miniature pony.
we need help with our new Biodiversity woodland, a lake project, garden with organic vegetable plot, general building maintenance, carpentry and housework.
We ask for a mornings work per day in return for vegetarian food and board (with 2 free days per week).
We offer accomodation in either a small cabin (share external bathroom in the main house)or a room in the main house, depending on current guests. We also have a small caravan, which is off grid, and situated in the woodland.
We are an easy-going couple who enjoy meeting people and are happy to share our interest in working with organic growing, wildlife and Animal husbandry. It is important that you can dont mind getting muddy and bring good rain gear.
Applicants must love animals and be steady workers, prepared to muck in and get muddy at times.
We are vegetarian but can not cater for vegans or special diets.
We have internet, but you will need to bring your own laptop.
Sorry, we cannot host anybody with dogs.
Please note that we only cook vegetarian food, and ask Helpers not to store meat or fish in the fridge or freezer.
