Welcome to our beautiful property is in a prime location on the busy Kangaroo Island tourist trail, right next to the famous Seal Bay Conservation Park.
Our property boasts 35 acres of natural beauty, cabin and hostel accommodation, fully licensed restaurant/cafe, and a heritage-listed reception and gift shop building (Kangaroo Island's original Post Office).
We have a big vision for our property, which includes landscaping, establishing kitchen gardens for our restaurant, hosting festivals and live music events, etc and are seeking enthusiastic and energetic volunteers to help us lift the place us and realise its potential as a vibrant hub for tourists and locals alike.
Help Exchange Duties:
During off-peak season (April to August), jobs include:
building, fencing, building maintenance, gardening, landscaping, painting, cleaning, housekeeping and help in the kitchen, etc.
During the holiday season (September to March)
it is important for us to have helpers that are able to work in our cafe (cooking, cleaning and serving customers) and also cleaning the cabins for guests.
In exchange for your much appreciated hard work we will accommodate you in our backpackers shared rooms over the holiday season, beverages (non-alcoholic of course) and 3 square meals a day.
We are also able to offer to pay your travel back to the mainland (via ferry) if you volunteer for a month or more.
We are located about 30 minutes from the main town, Kingscote, 7 minutes from Seal Bay, and 10 minutes from the gorgeous Vivonne Bay beach.
How to Get Here:
To get here you must organize travel to Cape Jervis in South Australia and take the Sealink ferry to Penneshaw, Kangaroo Island and the bus from Penneshaw to Kingscote.
There is a Sealink Coach Connection bus from Adelaide to Cape Jervis, or you are able to take a vehicle on the ferry to the island (at a discount).
Visit www.sealink.com.au or call 13 13 01 for timetables and details.
There is also an airport here on the island. Rex airlines flies from Adelaide to Kingscote and back - see www.rex.com.au.
We are happy to pick you up from Kingscote or Penneshaw if you do not come with your own vehicle. Having your own vehicle is a big plus here on the Island.
If you have any questions or are keen to help us out, please do not hesitate to contact us as we love to meet and chat with new people!
We look forward to hearing from you :)
This is a great opportunity to be on Kangaroo Island, enjoy serene nature and experience a special place.
