This is a horse agistment property located in beautiful Brookby, a rural area 25 minutes from Auckland Airport, and 35 minutes drive from Auckland City centre. The scenic Clevedon Village is a 5 minute drive away, with cafes and basic necessities. There is plenty to do in the area, including hiking, mountain biking, beaches within 15 minutes' drive, and local vineyards.
On our farm we provide grazing and equestrian facilities for 14 horses, and also run approx 20 beef cattle. We also have pet goats, hens, a dog and cat. We are a well-travelled couple in our late 30's who work hard but enjoy relaxing with a glass of wine during the weekends.
Our home is large and recently refurbished. A queen bed and own modern bathroom are provided for HelpX helpers. There is also a swimming pool and tennis court which helpers are welcome to use.
There are always plenty of jobs to do around the farm including weed control, fencing, tree trimming, chainsaw work, plus general gardening and home cleaning, possibly cooking. We ask for 4 hours per day in exchange for accommodation and meals. We are flexible with hours (eg if you want to work extra hours during the week then take the weekends off, that is fine with us).
Our farm is approx 15 kms from the nearest train station at Manurewa. We are happy to drive help-exers to and from the train station at times that suit our schedule, but we prefer our Help-exers to have their own car. Having your own transport will also enable you to explore our beautiful region (there is no public transport).
