Our 120-acre farm is located in the beautiful Blackwood River Valley, where we practice regenerative agriculture and grow chemical-free, pastured poultry (chickens and ducks). Our heritage property (1855) and farm was totally destroyed by a fire storm in 2013. Since then, pastures, fences, water, electricity and gardens have been restored. We are more determined than ever to see our start-up enterprise succeed. We also maintain diary cows, goats, horses and pigs, and are slowly rebuilding our vegetable garden. We have a strong ecological farming and food philosophy, with an application for Demeter organics / biodynamics in progress. Work includes daily care of plants and animals, plus special projects including tree planting, orchard development vegetable garden set up, ongoing fire debris clean up and weed management. Accommodation is caravan (heated in winter) under magnificent 150 year old oak tree, with shared bathroom in main family home. All food is provided, with some shared meals. Special dietary requirements can be catered for (wherever possible!). Plus we have excellent coffee! Initial stay 2 weeks, then negotiable. There is a beautiful lake with jetty, a variety of hills for those seeking a fitness challenge as well as the Blackwood River and Bibbulmum Track for recreation. No children, please. NSI.
