Hello Dear Helpxers! (and kreef)
Skilled and unskilled workers equally need from the 1st of February.
We are a couple in our 60s managing a B&B / Retreat /Wedding Venue business in the country side of Wiltshire.
This house built in 1856 and was a family home originally. It is now owned by a charity
and in recent years developed as a B&B with 8 bedrooms, a conference and retreat centre and party and wedding venue. The range of events we have here is quite vast but we can tell you all about it when you arrive.
So here is the deal, regarding skilled work, if you have experience in:
- Solar paneling
- Led windows
Then you are especially welcome!
But regardless of who you are, there is plenty of work to be done.
The garden is in need of work at the moment, the spring is coming and its a good time to start tidy it up. There is also painting and decorating to do as well as other maintenance jobs such as cleaning, grass cutting, making beds and washing up breakfast dishes etc. We will have have plenty of new projects to discuss which require all sorts of basic skills, even an imaginative mind will be most appreciated.
We expect a minimum of 4 hours of work daily with one day off a week, but this may flexible to discussion depending on each case.
We ask a minimum stay of 2 weeks and see how we get on from there.
You will be staying in the upstairs staff room which has two available spaces at the moment, and YES there is heating.
We provide all meals, however occasionally we may be too busy to prepare lunch. If you can cook for us sometimes we would be most delighted to exchange recipes.
We provide Wi-Fi. If you don't have a laptop we have a computer available for use.
We are located in a very peaceful, relatively rural area between two towns 20 minute bus ride away.
There is a pub just up the road, a local village 10 minute walk away, and other pubs/restaurants by the nearby canal in walking distance.
We recommend nearby trips to the beautiful city of Bath, Salisbury, avebury, stone henge, and if you get lucky you might be able to see some crop circles!
We are welcoming to all types of people as long as you bring enthusiasm to help, and an open mind to share yourself with others.
Feel free to either give us a call, or send us an email for any questions.
We look forward to hearing from you!!
-Carlo and Barbara
