Hello Dear Helpxers!
Skilled and unskilled workers equally needed all year round.
We have the privilege of managing a beautiful country house that is used for B&B, Retreats and Weddings in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside.
This house was built in 1856 and was a family home originally. In recent years it has been developed as a B&B with 9 bedrooms, a conference and retreat centre and party and wedding venue. The range of events we have here is quite vast but we can tell you all about it when you arrive.
So here is the deal, regarding skilled work, if you have experience in any of the following:
- Lead windows
Then you are especially welcome!
But regardless of who you are, there is plenty of work to be done.
The garden is in need of work at the moment, the spring is coming and its a good time to start tidy it up. There is also painting and decorating to do as well as other maintenance jobs such as cleaning, making beds and washing up breakfast dishes etc. We will have plenty of new projects to discuss which require all sorts of basic skills, even an imaginative mind will be most appreciated.
We expect a minimum of four hours of work daily with one day off a week, but this may be flexible depending on each case.
We ask a minimum stay of two weeks and see how we get on from there.
You will be staying in the upstairs staff accommodation which has two available spaces at the moment, and YES there is heating.
We provide all meals, however occasionally we may be too busy to prepare a meal so we can take turns to cook for each other.
We provide Wi-Fi. If you don't have a laptop we have a computer available for use.
We are located in a very peaceful, relatively rural area between two towns, both a 20 minute bus ride away.
There is a pub just up the road, a local village 10 minute walk away, and other pubs/restaurants by the nearby canal in walking distance.
We recommend nearby trips to the beautiful cities of Bath, Salisbury, Avebury, Stonehenge, and if you get lucky you might be able to see some crop circles!
We are welcoming to all types of people as long as you bring enthusiasm to help, and an open mind to share yourself with others.
Feel free to either give us a call, or send us an email for any questions.
We look forward to hearing from you!!
