HI, TO ANYONE OUT THERE LOOKING TO SPEND TIME IN THE SOCOTTISH HIGHLANDS FROM MID-FEBRUARY/MARCH UNTIL END OF OCTOBER 2018, IF SO I AM LOOKING FOR HELP IN THE FORM OF EITHER 1 COUPLE OR FRIENDS- NON-SMOKERS(2/3 IN TOTAL) FROM SEPTEMBER THROUGH TO END OF OCTOBER (MINIMUM 6 - 8 WEEKS COMMITMENT). WILL CONSIDER INDIVIDUALS (BUT WILL HAVE TO SHARE ACCOMMODATION). SO IF YOU ARE HARDWORKING, HONEST WITH A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOUR LOOKING TO EXPERIENCE THE SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS (THE FAMOUS LOCH NESS AREA (HOME OF THE LOCH NESS MONSTER). IN RETURN FOR 3/5 HOURS WORK EACH DAY (FROM EACH PERSON) I WILL OFFER GOOD ACCOMMODATION AND ALL MEALS. CONT. BREAKFAST, LIGHT LUNCH & EVENING MEAL, SNACKS, DRINKS ETC.
We are located in the Village of Drumnadrocit close to Loch Ness and 14 miles from Inverness. Its a Lovely Victorian Villa operating as a Bed and Breakfast and is situated in its own grounds. At the moment there are 11 guest rooms and we operate all year round with the exception of Christmas. The property is spacious and bright, nicely furnished and all rooms are en-suite with the exception of 2. All rooms have nice views of either the front garden and its giant Redwood trees or over open fields up the glen. Although the house is not listed with any tourist organisations (through choice) I operate to a very high standard and this is reflected on the reviews through Booking.com /Airbnb and Late Rooms. I use as much free range/local organic produce as possible and alljams/marmalades are home made.
Drumnadrochit is a great base for visiting the many interesting places in and around the area and during the summer season the village and businesses are extremely busy.
My helpers this year have been from France, Germany and the Basque Country. They are all doing other things next year i.e. returning from studies, gap years etc. otherwise I would be happy for them to return. (if you want to communicate with them I am sure this will not be a problem). So I am looking for help from hardworking, honest individual(s) with a great sense of humour, love of animals and the country, Willing to stay a minimum of 6 - 8 weeks to help me in the house for around 3/5 hours a day. (probably suite 19 - 25 year olds either before starting university or those on a gap year looking to improve their English)These hours may be split or straight through. The jobs I will need help with are servicing guest rooms (making beds, cleaning bathrooms, hoovering etc., some light kitchen duties, & possibly some gardening. A certain amount of flexibility will be required as is a good positive mental attitude. In return helpers will enjoy nice accommodation, good food, free wi-fi access, having you'r own space and time off to explore the beautiful, breathtaking surroundings and do a spot of Nessie Hunting!! As yet I am unsure as to what schedule my helper would have to work to and would be happy to discuss this in greater detail so it would be mutually beneficial. In the past I have had mainly French Helpers, with Australians, Spanish stopping off for a while on their travels
We get a mix of visitors from all over the world some are generally touring in the area, walking the Great Glen Way, visiting family, Following the Whisky Trail to name but a few. The attractions are endless within the village itself is the Loch Ness 2000 Exhibition Centre, boat trips on Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, Water falls, pony trekking and within a 30/50 mile radius are castles, Culloden Battlefield, Fort George (Largest working Fort in Britain) Moray Firth Dolphins, Distilleries, Cairngorm National Park and ski grounds and all around you the scenery - North, South, East, West stunning where ever you are. The area plays host to two different music Festivals - Belladrum and Loopalu throughout the summer. There are pretty good rail and transport links in the season and good ferry services to the islands.
If you want to find out more about Kilmichael House then check out our website www.kilmichaelhouse.co.uk and also Booking.com website (search under Kilmichael House B & B).
THE WORK IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE BUT IT HAS TO BE CARRIED OUT TO A VERY HIGH STANDARD! I AM A DIRECT AND STRAIGHT TO THE POINT KIND OF PERSON - MY NUMBER ONE INTEREST IS MY BUSINESS. I TREAT PEOPLE FAIRLY AND AM HONEST - I EXPECT THE SAME IN RETURN. THE BEST TYPE OF INDIVIDUAL TO APPLY SHOULD BE INDEPENDENT, HONEST AND CAPABLE OF WORKING WITH MINIMAL SUPERVISION . I HAVE A PERMANENT HOUSEKEEPER SO INDIVIDUALS WOULD BE ASSISTING HER MAINLY. IT IS POSSIBLE (DEPENDING ON WHEN WHEN HELPERS START)THAT THERE MAY ALSO BE SOME PAID WORK IN LOCAL RESTAURANTS / HOTELS WHICH WILL ALLOW YOU A) TO EARN AND SAVE MONEY AND ALSO GET TO KNOW THE LOCALS. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED GET IN TOUCH SOON. THANKS FOR READING MY PROFILE
