SORRY I CAN'T TAKE ANY MORE HELPXERS FOR A WHILE, APART FROM THOSE I HAVE BOOKED IN AS MY CIRCUMSTANCES WILL BE CHANGING. I'LL UPDATE MY LISTING WHEN I HAVE MORE DETAILS.

THANKS TO ALL THE LOVELY PEOPLE WHO HAVE CONTACTED ME.

I'm a single female in my 50s, living alone (no husband or animals!) and I work from home as a therapist/teacher of meditation and personal development. I love travelling, cycling, yoga and reading. Im concerned about the environment; I have photovoltaic panels on the roof and I drive a hybrid car. I dont eat meat and I dont smoke.

I live in a lovely 4 bed detached house in a quiet urban conservation area on a hill. My home is clean, comfortable and has a lovely peaceful energy. I have two single rooms available for helpx volunteers; one of them a small room and the other a large one with en-suite shower room, TV, large balcony and a view.

I can offer the use of all household facilities, computer, washing machine etc. There are two bicycles in the garage which are available too.

My home is close to all good amenities; 10 minutes walk to Gravesend town centre and railway station. Burial place of Pocahontas and the area is mentioned in Charles Dickens novels. From here its possible to get a train into central London (50 minutes) or the high speed train to London St. Pancras International (22 minutes). Ebbsfleet is 3 minutes away on the high speed from where you can catch a high speed train to the continent. Cycle route 1 is a 10 minute ride away and this goes across the marshes down by the river Thames (good bird-watching here).

I dont have a large garden but I mostly need help with outdoor jobs in this area. The priority is that everything needs painting; wooden garden furniture, fences, railings, decking etc. Some help with general gardening would be useful too. I mostly have shrubs interspersed with lots of weeds and things which have grown out of control! I have a wooden gazebo which is 20 years old and is falling apart so someone with carpentry skills would be very useful. Also Id like to get some screening and trellises put up. Id love to start growing some vegetables this year so some help with getting that started would also be good.

I would prefer people over 25 with fairly good English, mature people welcome. We can negotiate working hours and length of stay but I like a win/win situation. Maybe 4-5 hours a day for 5 days a week? Im thinking of April onwards. Ill sometimes make meals and at other times provide food for you to cook for yourself depending on how busy I am.
