Hi we are a young couple in our early 30's and we live on a 110ha working cropping farm 15km east of Ashburton. We have 2 young children aged 1 and 4.
We grow a variety of different crops and also fatten lambs over winter and graze dairy cows.
We are looking for people to help around the garden, do some house work, odd jobs round the farm and depending on experience there may also be tractor and stock work and helping with the children. We would be looking for people to stay between 3-14 days ( may be able to stay longer depending on time of year) and work around 4-5 hours a day.
You must be child friendly as our children love meeting new people :-)
We have separte living quarters which have a room with double bed and small lounge with couch that folds down to a bed, t.v and in a seperate building a shower and kitchen area. Meals will be with the family in the family home.
He have hosted through an agrilcultural exchange programme for years and we always enjoy meeting new people. We have worked in Canada and we have both spent time on farms in Australia.
Ashburton is a great town just over an hours drive south of Christchurch, we have all major services and are close to ski fields, lakes and rivers. In our spare time we enjoy boating and skiing and spending time with friends
We go to town a couple of times a week so are able to pick you up in Ashburton.
