We are urgently looking for short/long term VOLUNTEER PROJECT FUND RAISERS that is online fundraiser,certain project fundraiser,event arranging to fund raise,fund raising through forming groups like Country name or institution name with cbsm for example FRIENDS OF CBSM USA , qualification: any but with passion:short term three months long term any duration more than 3 months.please volunteer
This is a registered NGO ,working with the local community at grass root level in up country rural set ups of Kenya near the boarder of Kenya and Uganda down slopes of Mt Elgon in Kimilili.
We are involved in many different projects with mission to offer comprehensive care and support to marginalized members of society and bring about sociol-economic independence and we have a vision to live in a just society where the less fortunate are facilitated in acquiring protection, care, support and knowledge to better their lives.
We have: Education program, Health program, Agriculture program, women and youth empowerment program, alternative shelter program for extreme cases of vulnerable children, among others
We have a primary school of currently 300 vulnerable children, where they access free education, food, clothing, accommodation for those children whose life and future is threatened unless intervention is done. Orphanage home, provision of clean water, food, safe shelter, clothing among other basic needs to the vulnerable children. The school has over 13 teachers, three watchmen for security, cooks and project accountant with other local volunteers who does their services for free to the centre. We are looking for and welcome to our orphanage and school volunteers who would like to come and interact with children, play with them, teach them, work for them in anyway and also learn from our children for example various games they play etc.
Health program.
Headed by a retired medical officer from Ministry of health, forming a team with A peace Corp volunteer send to us by her USA government for the next two years that are working together with local medical facilities, local community groups in health matters not limited to nutrition education, clean water, HIV/aids, malaria killer of most people in Africa, among others plans are under way to establish a health facility (clinic/hospital) to enable attend to various health cases and as a center and point of contact. We are suffering from insufficient human resources and other necessary resources is looking for volunteers who are willing to be part of the health program to generate ideas and information that will help the local communities live along and health life
Women and youth empowerment programs
Local women and youth lacking formal education and or semi illiterate are facilitated to come together form groups of about six per group to start various economical income generating activities as an empowerment to family (household). This is done through various workshops like Agri-business, business workshops and after acquiring knowledge is facilitated to the next stage of initiating income generating activities per group Since in Kenya access to formal banking credit facilities is challenging where mostly a security like land title deed is required and loan guarantors that most women and youth don't access due to lack of securities, we initiated table banking project for this groups, where they meet weekly, making small contributions in form of shares ,in the presence and leadership of both group leaders and our project accountant who helps them in book keeping among others assistance, accrued shares provides basis of resources through which members now borrow to refinance their businesses activities and return at certain period of time with small interest which is cultivated back to the group's shares to increase the resources available for credited facilities for members only.
Agriculture/agri-business
Workshops done to local community, for knowledge empowerment on best practices in agriculture this helps the local community to increase farm out put hence food security and fight famine in the local community. Kenya being an agricultural economy Kimilili community purely depend on farming that depend on natural climate which deforestation and other human activities has made Kenya as a whole suffers from climatic changes from usual to negative.

We are looking for FUND RAISERS for various project, online fundraisers and volunteers to come we work together Most need is on children orphanage home, we are looking for foster parents, any body who can help in any way we are looking for you. Accommodation
There are three types of accommodation:
1. Hotel accommodation. It is about six hundred meters away from the project. Hotel Mt crest. Charges per day are about ksh. 700/= per room without meals.
2. Family, it is Free accommodation given a room in a family set up, self contained with water and electricity, well fenced security. Location of this family house about 200meters away from Kimilili police station. And to our projects about 250 meters away from police station. most volunteers who are currently working with us prefer this kind of accommodation our local community also prefer this method for visitors.Food/meals contribution of USA dollar 50 per month.
3. Non family house, but leased by us that volunteers pay for it, USA DOLLAR 100 per month including meals
However volunteers have freedom to choose, hotel is unnecessary expensive.
CHARGES
We do not charge volunteers who come to work for here, hence no charges and volunteering is free.
