Our home in Parry Sound is 2 hours north of Toronto by car or 3 hours by the Ontario Northland Bus. Alternatively you can try to find a "ride-share" on the internet. Look for someone going to Sudbury and ask to be let off at Parry Sound.

Georgian Bay is a UNESCO wildlife reserve and is the home of many endangered species. For more information visit; (an amazing trail connecting Parry Sound to Algonquin Park)

Exchange involves 30hrs per week and you have a private room and 3 meals/day. Helpers log their hours and and plan for 1 or 2 days off to explore the area.

There is a sunny guest room (in the photo) with a double bed and an additional single. The house is on a 1/2 acre wooded lot near the edge of town. It is a short walk to the fitness trails, 3 beaches, the library for free wifi and the shops of Parry Sound.
Helpers participate in, meal preparation and clean-up. Meals include poultry, fish, lots of veggies, fruit and whole grains. If Helpers want to provide red meat for themselves that is okay also.

Our water front house/cottage is located on The Britt side of Byng Inlet on Georgian Bay.

We need help at both locations with general maintenance: painting, lawn mowing (riding mower), moving stuff, cleaning, bicycle maintenance, landscaping, cutting trees and removing the stumps, small renovation progects, weed whacking, furniture refinishing, as well as planting, harvesting & preserving veggies.

Helpers who are willing to learn new skills are welcome.
We may travel to both locations as needed and we will teach helpers how to kayak and canoe if weather permits. You may be able to take the sea kayaks for an overnight on the uninhabited islands in Georgian Bay, if you become a competent paddler.

There is swimming, kayaking, canoeing, bicycling, hiking and Geo-cashing, all depending on the season and our location at the time. There is snow shoe trekking and Nordic skiing in winter.
In the summer there are free concerts and holiday events in Parry Sound as well as many other ticketed cultural events

Please note that when helpers are accepted we require a copy of their medical travel insurance and passport ID, by email or when they arrive.
