WE ARE NOW TAKING BOOKINGS FOR 2018, and welcome enquiries for accommodation from the start of April

We are a very relaxed couple who prefer people that have experience, and lived away from home setting. With The ability to work unsupervised with the ethos. If you see something needs to be done, go ahead and do it.

Our place consists of 1.5 acre smallholding in West Cork close to the sea, mountains, lakes and woods in one of the most scenic areas of Ireland. The land is put to mixed use; this includes a pond, orchard and raised vegetable beds and garden with a poly-tunnel all food is organic.

Help is required with up-keep and improvements to the land & house. Preference will be given to those with skills that suits the work we wish to have completed in 2017. We hope to put up another tunnel this year. As you will see from our photos we love animals even the very dirty Kenzo who decides to dig tunnels in the muck. As stated we are easy-going and enjoy the company and passing on the experience of what we have learned over the years.

The work we require assistance with is some block laying, to build more raised vegetable beds. Building frames to protect trees from the birds eating produce; also odd-jobs around the property. We want to get some painting on the house exterior this year. Also help with gardening sharing the cooking, light house hold chores i.e. cleaning ect.sharing the

We ask for approx 5hrís per day, a little extra to help Mark when he is off as he works odd hours. We ask for willingness to help and learn. The ability to get on with work allocated or work unsupervised. Other work includes
feeding animals, gardening/weeding egg collection, planting, watering plants in both tunnels. In autumn harvesting and processing of food.

We have a strong policy of only taking persons over 21. You need be an animal lover as we have a variety of dogs, pigs, chickens and a cat. We advise you bring old clothes for outdoor work; we provide training in equipment used and safety protection equipment you will be required to use.

Accommodation is provided in the form of a self contained flat, with good food, mealtimes may vary due to work commitments; we are not vegetarians. There is always a great selection of produce from the garden and tunnel you will never be stuck for choice in foods.

Just to give you a little information on the region/animals; Picture 1. Is one of the many amazing sunsets. 2. The poly tunnel early in the season. 3. A very dirty Kenzo one of the Bedlington dogs 4. Percy our KuneKune pig 5. View of the region 6. Finally one of the nearby beaches the dogs love.

We are approx 1.5km from the closest shop or pubs, and 12km from Bantry; however the area is beautiful with plenty of walks/hikes we are less than 2km from the sea. There is access to the internet.
