This is a rural property which we, together with adult daughter, son in law and their children, intend to develop to run stock. At present there is only approx 20ha in pasture and we run a few cows on that. The rest is in large bush teeming with wildlife. There are plenty of tracks though it if you like bushwalking. This is dry country with limited water and the contour is rolling to hilly.

We are on a gravel road, approx 7km from the Lyell Highway and have no close neighbours. This property would suit those who enjoy peace and quiet. We are on a solar electricity system so must be careful with our consumption but have all mod cons including tv and internet. We also have a rainwater supply so visitors need to be careful with water use.(no long showers please) If we run out we have to buy it.

We have a small but new home with accommodation in 2 bedrooms, one with a single bed and one with a double bed.

We provide good food and are pretty easy going. We would not expect you to work long hours. If we go out, you go with us.

Smoking permitted outdoors but strictly no drugs. We are an older couple and there are no children in the house. Our daughter lives in her own house about 1/2km away.

We enjoy good music but are not into much modern stuff. We often watch musical DVD's. There is also a DVD player in the bedroom for your use,and plenty of varied DVD's, although we do ask that you don't play it late at night.

Work would be varied, according to what is needed at the time. Could be fencing, picking up stones, potting, weeding, lawn mowing or helping get firewood. Maybe some work in the house if raining. At present we are clearing some overgrown land the was formerly pasture. Because of distance from Hobart, we prefer people who want to stay for more than a day or two. We look forward to welcoming you to our home.
