Hello, We live in a beautiful bit of paradise, come and share it.

A river and a mountain and bush on all sides. 6 hectares of pasture and good people.

We live on the Waitawheta river in the Karangahake Gorge between Paeroa and Waihi at a place rather unfortunately call Dickey Flat. So we really want people with some practical experience (we will be working on an earth floor building retaining walls, digging holes, de barking branches maybe some child care. etc.) It would be great to have some one to do some driving work who is comfortable driving with a trailer to pick up materials. If any of this sounds like you, get in touch.

There are a few different accommodation options, all of which are clean and pleasant. We are off the grid and have a solar set up and are working on a microhydro. We have no internet but good m
obile coverage in places. Our toilet is a composting toilet.

We are family friendly. Two families share the place and we have 6 kids between us. 2, 5, 5, 7, 13, 16. We homeschool the kids. Checkout our friend and land partner Lucy's blog, which I have listed as our web site.

Food prep and tidy up is shared. We aren't eating as much organic as usual as we are transitioning to this new place and have no garden yet. We have been here under a year.

There are two Yurts on the site and we are about to begin building a big earth deck (covered over) and prepare the site and perhaps start work on a reciprocating roof round house.

Rowan (42) and Bx (41) have worked on organic farms for years and look forward to firing up our new garden. Bx is a co ordinater at the Thames community gardens. Rowan has been an earth builder and market garden chap. We have had heaps of small businesses and have had heaps of visitors help in them over the years. We have been accused of being hippies.

You are welcome to borrow bikes.

If you don't like the look of us or if you look like you might drive us nuts we should tell each other early and part friends.
