LIFE ON OUR CULTURAL ISLAND
Welcome to all of you,
Our location,a Cultural Island dates back to the 8th century and consists of protected historical architectural buildings of a water mill, wooden and stone houses and wooden barns.
These are surrounded by 3,5 ha of biotops with an orchard, grass meadows, 4 streamlets and brooks in forests.
It is an Island as it is a very unique place which is a little remote as well.Life here contains the entirety of constitutive, artistic and mental activities which makes it a Cultural Island. It is like a person's character - once born, it is always changing and developing.
Rita is an artist and Kenneth is an engineer from London. Rita has spent 40 years building up this Cultural Island, which has natural water streams flowing across open meadows. We welcome all creative people who are able to support and contribute to a working way of life on spiritual awareness. You should be a person of integrity, striving for positive outlook - we call it the Light. The purpose and goal of our work here is to enhance our individual self by contributing to the Cultural Island habitat in a natural awarness of the Creation.
Each of us will contribute something to the daily life and give and receive all that we can to make a difference. This needs strong committment in terms of time and work and each individual must have an understanding of what this committment means. For further information, have a look on our website www.training.ritagrosse-ruyken.com
If you have a formal training or extended experience you can work on several architectural and landscape art projects, such as building an amphitheater or raised flower beds in certain shapes. We also need builders and other specialists for our green buildings under the preservation of sites of historical interest.
The daily life consists of seasonal work including fruit and vegetable growing, harvesting, in winter/spring the tree felling and cutting, storing for heating/cooking, the constant repairs, cleaning and maintenance of buildings with the landscape and our daily needs which in the work ethic is constant as it was in the virgin world. We do not hide the fact that this means hard work and sometimes due to circumstances longer hours of engagement in order to complete the task. However, by working here you will undergo a process of self-development by immersing yourself in the flow of the realization of many and varied projects.
You will have your own room and use a shared bathroom facility that is in the same house as Rita´s atelier. A larger bathroom in the second house is planned awaiting help to construct. Meals will be provided either shared or individually prepared, depending on personal choices, using vegetables and dairy products from our own resource and local farmers, which are mainly organic.
We are located at the foothills of the Alps between the Mozart city of Salzburg and the three river city of Passau, on the edge of the triangle Bad Birnbach, Bad Fuessing and Bad Griesbach, a famous spa center. When coming by plane, the nearest airports are Munich and Salzburg; trains arrive at Pfarrkirchen where we will welcome you.
In particular, Rita requires the services of a Personal Assistant. Her work and general running of the property often entails a variety of small projects, which Rita is not always available to oversee. Such projects would include: overseeing visitors and helpers, art travel/business preparation, file organisation, event planning ( Art exhibitions etc.), landscape art supervision and general job delegation.
This position would suit a person with intuitive inner guidance, strong managerial skills, open- minded, organised and flexible approach, willing to work for Rita´s vision and learn in a supportive environment.
If you are seeking a great experience and an unique opportunity lasting 6 months to 2 years, this work would be ideal for you. A trial period of 2 weeks-2 months, to ensure this is the right position can be agreed.
As part of your time working alongside Rita, you will be provided with free accomodation as well as all food.
At the end of your stay, the experience would be a great asset to your CV due to Rita's international reputation in the field of art and philosophy
