Looking for help between now and December.
Main project to get the vegetable garden and poly tunnel tidy and ready for the winter. You will need wellington boots and a waterproof jacket. It is not easy work as you will be digging the ground to bring up potatoes, removing weeds and old plants.
We have a small holding of sheep, chickens, two lovely horses and a very friendly smelly dog (Basset Hound) who will come to you for attention and a stroke.
Our 200+ year old country cottage is open to any females aged 19+.
Duties may also include :
* feeding and generally helping to look after the animals
* mucking out the stables
* clearing horse manure from the field
* grooming horses
* feeding the small flock of sheep
* cleaning out the chicken houses
* cleaning the house
* generally helping with household duties.
It is not easy work, but 5 hours are expected each day.
Despite being in the countryside, we are lucky to be on a direct bus route to Canterbury (buses every 15 minutes). Canterbury has the fast train and 007 bus to London. Also in close proximity is Ashford International Eurostar, Dover and Folkestone docks.
We are in great hiking country and can lend you a mountain bike.
You will have your own small single bedroom in the house and all meals. Free WIFI also available.
Experience with vegetable gardening or horses useful but not essential. We can collect you from Dover Port, Ashford International train station or Canterbury train or bus station. There are good train and bus links from Gatwick Airport and London.
You will work on your own some days.
If you are not prepared to work, we can offer reasonable bed and breakfast prices, please ask.
