hello!
we, a bilingual family of 5, live on a lifestyle/small farm block ca. 30km north of whangarei close to beaches and reserves.
we live on a hill in the bush with 4x4 access only but we are well used to picking our visitors up at the bottom. own transport would be good for you for exploring our beautiful region but we also make an effort to show visitors around where time& weather allow for it.

help is mainly needed with pulling out weeds, picking up horse poo and FENCING - plus, whatever the day throws at us will need to be taken care of ; )

we are looking for
self-motivated, easy going and reliable helpers with a REALLY good level of fitness and REALLY good communication skills ( that means you need to be fluent or near fluent in either English or German). no smoking on our property.

we have chooks, a dog, ponies , 4cows, a steer plus a lot of bird-life in the surrounding bush.

the helpers' accommodation, a basic cabin with a long drop ( plumpsklo) and outdoor shower, is situated about 300 m away from our house so everyone can have their privacy at times.
when our water levels are very low the only water available is at our house so this is where you can shower and fill up your water supply for the cabin.

Rural internet is very expensive and only limited data packages are available in our area so please don't be offended if all we offer you is the use of my ipad for checking emails/ skyping but we won't share our wifi code with anyone; )

we are off the grid so sun, wind and rain give us what we need. this means we are aiming for a sustainable water and energy use and some things work a bit differently up on our hill.

looking forward to meeting you!
cheers
katrin
