This is a high elevation farm in the mountains of Transylvania. We are semi secluded with a few neighbours only and lots of open space, with a wonderful view.
We accept open minded, ambitious, creative people who are eager to share their experiences and their skills with us. If you are undemanding and you love nature, you will have a great time at the Organic Art Ranch. You can come with your own ideas and work in groups with other volunteers. We don't have any animals right now, but we have plenty of gardening work and ecological construction projects.
We live a minimalistic lifestyle. We want to support slow growing, which means that we do not exploit the land and nature. We also support local food bought from small businesses rather than supermarkets as much as possible. Note that the closest market is 30 km away, so food supplies have to be planned and used with care. We recycle what we can by separating our trash and finding a second use for items. We buy in bulk and fresh, minimizing packaging, and by composting our organic waist we do not use chemicals in our gardens. The organic art ranch is a home, where people share everything and respect everyone. Leaving the common areas clean is one of the most essential rules on this farm. We work together, we have meals together, we create together a better way of living. When you stay here you will have a place to sleep and healthy organic food to eat. Depending on the number of people you can sleep in a guest room, hay loft or in a comfy tent. you might have to share a room with other volunteers. Accommodation is simple and rustic: you can sleep on a bed with a hay mattress, a warm wool blanket and watch the stars at night from your window. With fresh spring water and a privy with a mountain view what else do you need? We have mainly a vegetarian diet, with fresh milk every morning, home made cheese, cream and vegetables.

As a volunteer you are required to work 30 hours a week. We usually have 2 days off a week so you have time to enjoy the surroundings as well (which are very beautiful). We have limited internet access and mobile phone access (only Vodafone signal). Children and pets are not allowed due to safety reasons. Please ask us if you have any questions, we are flexible :)
