I am a commercial beekeeper running 200 hives and selling the honey to local shops and on farmers markets in London. I am looking for help from the end of October 2017 from anybody who is willing to learn about beekeeping either to start as a hobby or to get more involved with bees and to see this important aspect of farming,,the chance also to be part of the beekeeping enterprise and to get a more permanent position. I also run approx 150 free range hens, whose eggs I sell on farmers markets in London at the weekend. also we fatten up our own pigs, making us partly self sufficient ,we also have a small holding which is being developed ,where we intend to become more self sufficient with our own fruit and veg,we now have a poly tunnel which will enable us to grow a more diverse range of salad and veg ,I live in north west Norfolk close to the coast and travel up and down this side of East Anglia giving any helper a chance to see the countryside. I am look for helpers all year I prefer helpers to stay a minimum of 6 weeks or more
Accommodation will be in my home and helpers will be provided with 3 meals a day, full wireless Internet access etc etc
Amenities in the area include a pub in the village and the use of a swimming pool in next village
A bike is provided, to explore the area at the weekends if helpers don't come to London, and helpers who come to London get the chance to explore the Capital on Saturday afternoon after the farmers market
I am still looking for anyone willing to stay here long term
Helpers are reminded that this is a working honey farm and it is where I make a living ,but it also a place where helpers can learn about bees and all aspects of honey farming as well as self sufficiency and hopefully enjoy themselves. Helpers will be expected to work on their own at times and to use their own initiative I can also arrange for any Long term helper to have a free stay in London for a few days to see the capital, and to get a guided trip to see the sights. On the point of work the days here are long and will only suit those helpers who wish to be part of a living farm, it is not for the faint hearten please read the reviews ,if you come here you are expected to muck in and help around the house with food preparation, cleaning and tidying up and not to be afraid of hard work.Don,t come here if you are just after a holiday I don't provide holidays for helpers ,just a real life experience which on the whole they enjoy
