We are presently looking for someone to help us on our cattle station with jobs including feeding animals (pigs, chickens, horses, dogs and cattle) helping with garden (watering, mowing) and helping out with other general jobs on cattle station such as helping check cattle water and working with cattle.

Property 1 is a 16,239 hectare beef cattle and Brahman Cattle Stud station located 21 klm west of Tambo in South West Queensland. It is about 10 hour drive or bus trip north west of Brisbane or a 2 hour flight to nearby towns Chareville and Blackall. We are able to arrange pick up from Charleville or Blackall. We have separate accommodation with own amenities. Facilities to cook for yourself with food provided. Telstra mobile phone coverage and internet access is available at your own cost and you must have your own devices (do not expect we will provided you with free wifi or a computer to use).

Property 2 is a 57,900 hectare beef cattle station located 160km from South West from Longreach in the scenic Channel Country. It is about a 16 hour drive or 2 1/2 hour flight to Longreach, North West of Brisbane. We can arrange pick up from Longreach. We have private room in a large shared house. Some internet access and all meals provided with family and other workers. There is no mobile phone coverage here due to our remote Channel Country location.

Both properties are family owned and we work and live on both properties. So while here you could be working on both or one property during your stay depending on our work program at the time. Daily jobs on the stations may include handling cattle, mustering, branding and processing cattle, fencing repairs, general station maintenance duties, gardening, painting, mowing, external house maintenance and some domestic duties. Ideal opportunity for helpers who are interested in station life and love cattle and would like to experience being part of a family run cattle operation. Great way to experience the Australian outback life.

Due to volume of inquiry we receive and the need to select helpers to fit our needs, we will require photos and references. Preference will be given to helpers with some outdoor experience and those with previous farm or agriculture experience will also be given preference. Transport services to both properties are via bus (Bus Queensland) or plane (Qantas) from Brisbane. Depending on our current work program at time of arrival will depend on which property you would be required to travel to. Once here all other travel between the properties will be provided.

To get the best out of this experience it is best to stay a minimum of 3 weeks. We will consider Agricultural School placements from abroad. Only honest, polite and hard working applicants will be considered. Preference will be given to couples also as we are looking for two people and our accommodation would best suit a couple.
