We have a large productive garden, we are largely self sufficient in organic vegetables and fruit, and the garden is also full of flowers.
We keep a flock of rare traditional breed poultry from which we have a steady supply of organic free range eggs
We are a mile and a half from a bustling market town, Skibbereen, where there is plenty of entertainment for those who want it. And it also has a reasonably good bus service.
We are also not far from the spectacular West Cork coastline.

Helpers must be reasonably strong and not afraid to get their hands dirty. We mostly need help in the garden, weeding and clearing and so on but there are sometimes other jobs too such as wood chopping, hedging and strimming and so on. Some gardening experience is essential, as is a love of the outdoors, and a certain amount of hardiness. This is Ireland and the climate is unpredictable!
Helpers must be dog lovers as we have two lively playful dogs who are part of the family, and it would be better if you didn't have any irrational fears of insects.
We normally take bookings for a two week stay at a time, but would be very flexible.
We love meeting people from other cultures and far-away places.
Accommodation is two comfortable and cosy single rooms in the cottage where we live. It would suit two friends ideally. One person would also be fine and very welcome.
Helpers must be non-smokers.
We would expect 5ish hours work each day except Sundays but with great flexibility to allow for weather conditions.
We can offer WiFi, but not use of a computer, some sight-seeing, as well as homegrown food.

We are taking bookings for the 2014 season from mid-May. July and the first half of August are already fully booked.
