Welcome on board for our adventures! Assist this salty sailor to achieve his dream of regenerating his canal-bound vessel into a work of art!!
Your stay on my boat will involve a little dedication to my projects, but also shiploads of good-times and adventure :D

We are calling upon people that have an affection with art and community orientated projects that want to be a part of a bigger picture. They are musicians, craftsmen, painters, writers, or just people that want to be involved in something new and aren't afraid to get their hands dirty! This is an opportunity to live and work alongside like minded people from all paths of life and everywhere over the world to collaborate in something we can only create together.

- Fundraising experience
- Event organisers
- Handyman workers (plumbing, electrical)
- Copywriters!

Also we need many more skills that are not listed! but this is what we urgently need.

We believe that the key to creativity is collaboration.
Art is an essential part of life, just like the food we eat and the air we breath.

..that the trade of skills, knowledge, and material goods is very important for people to develop and learn together.
We aim to create and sustain a collaborative community that focuses on
exchanging knowledge, ideas, experience and goods where there is no merchant, only people.

Folks that come aboard will need to be able to adapt to different surroundings and feel fine if sometimes electricity and booze run dry, but the stories never (ever) do!
No high-maintenance drama-queens. This boat loves true travellers and sailors-at-heart, rather than just stoney tourists :)

We like to make common projects that require the ideas and contributions of everyone. All opinions count and all voices are heard and encouraged!
Most shipmates are still in their youth, but this doesn't mean those grey hairs aren't welcome!
If you still have some shake in your hips, you can make it on our ship!

Stained Glass and Glass sculpturing
One of the captains favourite words and things that he can not do without is glass, and not only the kinds of glass that you drink a magnificent rum from but the glass that you can stain with brush and a kiln. Also we make glass art using old rum bottles. An example of this is a sculpture we made using 400 bottles seen in the photos we've attached. Of course we can't always drink all the rum ourselves so we get the bottles from everywhere we can get our hands on. Ideas regarding glass or painting are more than welcome!

Steel and wood work are also trades that we like to teach and to learn from others!

Any useful skills are greatly appreciated and are happily shared/taught amongst each other. A trade is a huge benefit for the helping out in the community work, but if you don't have one then this is not a problem, as long as you can dedicate yourself to the project, many of the tasks are oh so simple :)

Kind of jobs:
Swabbing the deck (arrrr!)
Measuring, sawing, fastening, and generally constructing things from wood
Rustproofing steel
Bringing in ideas to explore the endless oceans of esthetics!
Drinking rum
Learning the Pirate Code

And don't worry, the freedom to discover this city's adventurous offerings and an all round awesome time are both totally guaranteed! Just ask our references :D

We ask for a small contribution of 5 euro per day for us to keep you toilet-papered, fed, adequately heated/cooled and generally comfortable. All the meals are made together and costs are shared (included in the 5 euro contribution).

Ensure a pair of not-too-special shoes are tucked away in your belongings, as you'll surely despise scuffing your favorites whilst tending to the ship's needs.

If only 21 (minimum) nights are desired in the soul-altering city of Amsterdam, then your presence is still very much welcome!

Often times your experience on this boat will intertwine with one of your Couchsurfing brethren, so expect to make some spectacular acquaintances, beyond just my own.

Location: Very near central, a short ferry ride away!

Accommodation: total 4 (possibly on deck another 2 in summer)

We have a couch big enough for one happy surfer to rest his or her nautical nutshell, while comfy cushions can fit fabulously on the floor for another. Two twin-size beds even exist, should you be lucky enough to call dibs first! For the true explorer, the roof is also a very popular slumber station in the warmer weather!

Residing on a waterborne vessel does not mean breaking up with video games or movies, too! An Xbox 360 and screen for watching movies or shooting aliens is also on-board :O

So don't go forgetting your rum, a sleeping bag, and some rum or rum YARRR...

If you share our vision and want to apply for a longer period of time on board (2 to 12 months) you can help us expanding this project that has received more than 500 volunteers over the past 3 years!

Please clearly state this in your request. We have special conditions for first mates that help out for a longer time period.
We can send you more information.
