We are a Registered non-profit farm animal sanctuary. A small Hobby Farm on the beautiful island of Grand Manan. We are trying our hardest to be sustainable, and would welcome a volunteer to learn and grow with us. We have 3 (very friendly) standard poodles, an English sheepdog and Irish wolfhound. Also 2 house cats (and 12 barn cats). We will integrate a helper with our family, and ask that they share farm and family responsibilities with us.

We have a working hobby farm with 3 alpacas, 3 sheep, 2 goats, a donkey, 28 chickens, 2 rabbits, and 12 barn cats. Our animals are our pets, and we use them to educate others on the benefits of small scale farming and self-sustainability, and the importance of heritage breeds. We are in the process of learning about hydroponics and have a couple small hydroponic vegetable gardens. We use only alpaca or sheep fertilizer from our own animals, and are trying to also use a variety of heritage seeds. We also have flower gardens, and a couple fruit trees. We will provide quality food, but if you like to cook, I would be delighted. Helpers are invited to join us for a busy, fun and rewarding experience. You must be able and willing to work independently. We would like help planning and planting gardens, clearing brush and trees, winterizung or spring maintenance, building and maintaining fences, some outdoor maintenance projects and farm animal care. Must have integrity and a keen sense of responsibility.

Grand Manan is a small island in the Bay of Fundy, it is full of natural wonder and was recently voted #3 of the World's Most Beautiful Small Islands by "Readers Digest". There are multiple hiking trails, beaches, and seascapes, plus there is always a chance that you can view whales from our shores! We live in, and run a Bed & Breakfast and we invite you to visit our website, for more property information.
