Can you help us get from this (photo 2) to this (see Photo 1 of John Seymore's 5 acre holding)?!
We are renovating a 1850's Landaise farmhouse with eco materials and traditional lime and stone-masonry. We are especially in need of a traditional builder with experience in lime stone work.

We have 5 hectares of farmland, 40mins from the Spanish boarder, 20mins from Bayonne and Biarritz surf beaches.

The house is un-liveable, so accommodation will either be in a caravan or a tent.

Meals will be provided in return for 4 hours work per day - Longer hours are negotiable. As we are renovating, the living conditions on site are pretty basic, although we do have electricity, water and a hot shower under a walnut tree. We have internet and are just finishing the temporary kitchen with mud & straw walls.

This could suit surfers (we are 25mins from Hossegor Plage), fishing fans & active people who enjoy walking, with the Pyrenees within view (40min by car). We can help you improve your English & we speak some French and Spanish & a little German. The land is on the outskirts of a pretty village with one shop & 1 bar/restaurant. The land is a 10min walk down to the River Adour, which goes all the way to Bayonne (good for cycling and canoeing).

This September (15-21st)we are planning to create a base camp on part of this land, for a charity that we run which supports 16-26 year olds from a disadvantaged background. We will be inviting 15 young adults from the UK to help build straw bale showers and toilet buildings. If you have straw bale experience and would like to get involved in this project, please get in touch. All volunteers will be CRB checked.

The photos show parts of our land & how overgrown most of it still is, plus a view of the old stone farmhouse we are restoring. We have had various friends and helpx people over the summer helping us. At the moment there are myself (Cat), my Mum, Val and Dane a NZ helps, and by Summer we are hoping to build a team of people to help us! :)
