** Live in vehicles always very welcome **

We're looking for help with a family run permaculture project begun 2008. The land comprises agricultural and forestry land, all of which we intend to make productive over the coming months and years.

We currently have goats, sheep, pigs, bees, cats, dogs, chickens, geese, guinea pigs and ducks. Long term volunteers may have the opportunity to milk goats and make cheese if they'd like to.

In the summer months we host Permaculture Design Courses (PDCs) and other workshops, perfect for travellers! Applications are open for summer interns, to help us through the busy summer period.

Current projects include renovating the house, installing irrigation systems including RAM pumps, starting new vegetable gardens, planting native trees, building animal shelters, clearing forest, soil improvement and, well, just about everything else!! There's no shortage of different things to do, and lots of variety. Both skilled and unskilled help welcomed, experience isn't required. We ask that guests stay for a minimum of two weeks, although preference will be given to those who can stay longer.

Were located in a beautiful peaceful location, but are within walking distance of the village. We're lucky to have a good range of local facilities close by, including wi-fi internet in a local village, and are easy to reach via public transport.

We have basic caravans on site for volunteer accommodation, and plenty of camping space. Live in vehicles very welcome too. It's important to realise that our facilities are basic, and this is not the place to visit if you're looking for luxury. Please make sure you read our website. We're normally happy to accommodate children, providing its arranged in advance, and were very pleased to work with larger groups such as Scouts. Languages spoken are English, Portuguese, Dutch and German. We eat a primarily vegetarian diet, but if you have an issue with us keeping meat animals on site then please don't come.

Please look at our website before getting in touch to ensure that this is the right farm for you. Lots of information there for volunteers, plus our current course listing (including fully certified Permaculture Design Course).
