We joined HelpX partly because we appreciate help in maintaining our farm but mainly because we enjoy good company and conversation.
Our Rosebank Farm is a "lifestyle farm" and has Heritage listed swamp, spring fed wetlands with trout and yabbies, native bushland, kangaroos, native water rats and native bush rats, echidna and extensive birdlife.
We are situated south of Adelaide in the McLaren Vale wine district and in the heart of bike riding territory (Willunga Hill, Tour Down Under, etc.). It is also a popular area for amateur cyclists and we are able to provide bikes if helpers would like to cycle and explore the district.
Our setup is ideal for couples with their own transport, as public transport is not easy to access and our district has many attractions, vineyards, food and wine, hills, beaches and whales (in the right season) and Adelaide is only 45 minutes drive.
Some Helpers have visited us first and arranged to purchase a vehicle while they were here.
We can deliver/pickup at Willunga.
We may be able to collect new arrivals from the Adelaide airport if their first stay is at Rosebank Farm.
Adelaide Metro goes to Willunga (Train Adelaide to Seaford Ė Bus Seaford to Willunga). We regularly travel to nearby towns and Adelaide and our helpers are welcome to join us.
Property is situated 3.5km from the main Adelaide to Victor Harbor road.
Helpers will help in the maintaining and developing of the property and garden and may be required to assist with cooking and housework.
Self contained, separate, air-conditioned accommodation suitable for an individual or couple.
Couples are preferred but individuals will be considered.
Barry enjoys cooking and appreciates guests who are prepared to try a variety of foods and cooking styles Please advise if you have special dietary needs, and while we will try to accommodate your needs, you may be asked to prepare your own meals with food we will provide. If you don't like the food that he cooks we will provide food for you to cook for yourself. You might like to share these meals with us!
We ask our Helpers to give us an average of 4 hours work, a day, 5 days a week (we donít normally work on weekends).
We are particularly looking for HANDY PERSON to help us renovate our visitor accommodation, someone who has good English and able to work unsupervised.
No Helpers required December and January.
NON smokers only, NO drugs or EXCESSIVE alcohol consumption allowed.
Please give us plenty of notice (at least 2 weeks) if you want to stay with us. The longer notice you give the better chance you have of spending time with us.
Please make your first contact by email not by phone.
