Where East meets West, half way between Oslo and Bergen, is our historic farm situated 750 meters above sea level in the beautiful mountain village Leveld, surrounded by forest and mountains.

This historic farm has been in the family for generations, and many of the houses date back to 1865. Now it is our turn to take over and give new spirit to the place, and we hope you will join us in the process. The main income of the farm is to run the 9 tourist cabins. At the moment we have decided to give them a new and updated look, and this is the main focus. Spring or atumn is usually the best time to come.
About us: We are a family with 3 children (10, 13 and 17). Tone grew up on the farm and Pascal grew up in New Zealand/Australia.

Work: Painting and restoring the cabins are our priorities at the moment. If you have an interest in interior design/ photoes or web developement that could also come handy. Besides work might include, house keeping, child minding, gardening, landscaping and forest work. If you are particularly skilled or interested in any of these jobs it is just to tell. We try to find jobs that you feel comfortable with. If you have building experience that will be much appreciated, and if you have no special skills that is fine too. Volunteers usually work an average of 25 hours a week for food and accomodation. Or 15 hours a week for accomodation only.

Activities: The closeness to the forest and mountains makes the farm a unique destination for nature lovers. There are endless opportunities for hiking and biking. The farm also has a fishing pond and a canoe. In winter this is an ultimate ski-destination for both down hill and cross country. Many artists has also been attracted too the village because of the special light and the living cultural heritage. Recently there has been opened an artist home in the village, where artists come to work and stay. There are also permanent exhibitions in the village.

Accomodation: Most volunteers live in the historic cottage called stabburet, next to our farm house. It has an authentic feel and is very cozy. You have accsess to internet. Working hours is usually 6h per day.
Food: The cottage has a little kitchen. Sometimes we eat and cook together in the family house other times we buy the food and you cook for yourself or a combination of the two. It is also possible to request volunteering for accomodation only. Then work is 3h a day.
