Sorry we are not taking anyone at the moment, unless you have a special interest in the area

I am developing 8 acres of land into a retreat. Ive been building a big house that is almost ready for paying customers to stay in. There is a big vegetable garden and orchard. There are 2 Siberian husky dogs, chickens, geese and bees for pets and always plenty of wildlife. Operating at the moment is a campground and sauna that can sometimes get busy in the summer because of the location right next to the Tasman National Park section of Cape Raoul and Shipstern bluff.
For some people this location is remote we are 10km to the nearest town and 2 hrs drive to Hobart. You can hardly see any neighbors so just be aware if you cant get by without your suburb/city trappings.
I live with a friend Alison who works a couple of days in Hobart. I am mainly working around home but also do occasional diving work in Hobart. I am a keen cycle tourer and sea kayaker who has done a lot of traveling.

There are also many other jobs that come along like planting trees, building assistance, tending animals, picking fruits, collecting wood and general farm maintenance.
We are looking for people who have a practical sense and keenness to work. Any specialized skills a bonus but not a must. Helpers should be able to work with others but just as importantly be able to work on your own unsupervised. Some jobs are far more practical and efficient by yourself.
Ideally helpers would be suited if they had a keen outdoor adventurous spirit. Our area is packed with options for exploring hiking tracks and beaches. Sending helpers on a 4-6 hour scenic bush walk should be seen as pleasure and not punishment. Helpers are persuaded to do their own thing after work. We are not tour guides. Yes if we are going somewhere of course you can come along. Helpers should also come prepared for cold and wild conditions at any time of the year.
It would also be ideal if helpers had their own car to give themselves more options and freedom for exploring after work. If not there is a bike you can use but you must be fit enough for the hills.
Helpers are asked to work a minimum 4hrs/day 6days/week. (this is always flexible) in exchange for good mixed diet food (all meals) and comfortable accommodation.
Helpers without a car could be picked up in Hobart if prearranged. You could also take a bus to Nubeena or hitchhiking is fairly easy if you are well presented.
Just contact us to make sure there is suitable work available before you come.
