KIA ORA / GREETINGS .... Yes, I am currently able to host helpers ....
So - If you are keen - Let me know your skills. The 'help' is varied and depends on what projects I am working on ...
I would like help sealing and painting the outside of a water tank. I am also painting the outside of The Cottage.
A bit of water blasting.
I am re building the property's gasometer .. a bit of cunning engineering is needed here.
I am also needing to sort my library and catalogue my art books. But, firstly - I am re painting the book shelves.
I am always doing some gardening - weather dependent - and inside cleaning.
The garden beds always need a weed and also there is some lawns to mow.
A Helper/s with some I.T. experience / knowledge would be wonderful.
In exchange for a full day off to explore Mt. Taranaki, I kindly ask that Helpers complete a simple Track Report to provide feedback on the track. I also ask that Helpers share a few of their photos from the walk. Feedback and photos will be added to the Taranaki Vistas website
So, check out my mountain live view web camera website. http://www.taranakivista.co.nz
I am also interested in creating & making short videos - only if you have good video skills.
AND if you like 'organizing' things then there certainly are a few tasks to do too if it rains and the work is inside.
I also expect helpers to do some voluntary work at the local community recycling shop in Waitara - a real treasure trove. This work is grassroots voluntary community work. It maybe more than the 4 -5 hours per day - but this is your contribution to the community. All the workers at the recycling / "Opp / Recycling " shop are unpaid and voluntary.
I really like the 'helper' to do 4.5 - 5 hours work per 'day' I host you - each night you stay is part of a 'day'. I am flexible with the days if you want to have full days off for tramping, walking or just having a complete day of rest.
and ............ please don't arrive at night.
The mountain, the coastline, the beaches and the coast is worth visiting.
WHAT I OFFER ...
Warm beds, all linen and towels.
I am okay with different preferences for food types ... .. vegetarian ... vegan .. etc.
An interesting visit :)) .
I have local knowledge though my photographic work.
Here is my profile - I am an artist, a visual activist. I live at the ex Tikorangi Dairy - butter & cheese Factory. I bought the property at Tikorangi 40 years ago - so the property has a progression of changes and eras!. The building also houses my photographic/art studio. This is a 3 ha block of land at Tikorangi. I also manage a 16ha block of farm land at Inglewood.
The work is gardening & garden maintenance, building projects, some farm work and web site work. I also take photos for various photographic projects - currently with the oil and gas industry so close to me at Tikorangi and in the northern Taranaki area.
I also do voluntary work at the local community recycling shop in Waitara.
The ideal helper would be able to work unsupervised. It would help to be able to use power tools - lawn mower, a chainsaw & a weed eater too.
I have a dog - a female fox terrier - Meg .. aka Princess Meg. I have 6 hens and a rooster - Donald..I also have a female goat - Nancy.
Mount Taranaki is magnificent and well worth a visit.
