We are an English speaking married couple who have been married for 45 years and have retired in sunny Mallacoota.
The photos below are the view from our front veranda. We have spectacular sunrises in the mornings.
We live in a neat and tidy home overlooking the beautiful Mallacoota lake. With the lake and ocean so close you can swim, surf, fish, take a slow walk or a longer hike. Local sports include bowls, golf, badminton, soccer, tennis and cricket.
Our home is within walking distance to town. Mallacoota is right within the Croajingalong National park, is on the east coast of Victoria and half way between Sydney and Melbourne. There is public transport between Melbourne and Batemans Bay and we are on this route. If you get off the main bus route at Genoa there is a local Mallacoota bus which will meet you there on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays (at 9.00am coming from Batemans bay and 2.30pm from Melbourne) and this will bring you right to our doorstep.
The property includes a small orchard and over 100 roses which need pruning during June/July period so we are looking for enthusiastic and trustworthy helpers to help us with gardening ( pruning, weeding etc) and household chores (eg cleaning up after dinner) for up to 4 hours a day. Garden maintenance and pruning are usually the major tasks. We are flexible with your hours and you may schedule them to suit yourself and the rest of your time is yours to spend as you wish enjoying the beautiful Mallacoota lake and beaches. We expect you to anticipate and offer assistance without being asked. In return you would be welcomed as part of our family during your stay with us and be provided with food and accommodation but we have a strict non smoking policy with no drugs in our home. We ask that you respect our home and remain neat and tidy and do your own washing and ironing as necessary.
Your accomodation will be a self contained large private caravan set up in our backyard with a private sun deck overlooking the lake and ocean. It has a TV, a kettle, microwave, toaster, and fridge. We ask that you leave it in the same state of cleanliness as you find it. You will be able to look after your own breakfast as our timing in the mornings varies every day. We provide cereal, bread, butter , peanut butter, Vegemite, homemade jams etc for your breakfast but you will share lunch and dinner with us in our home..
Please note that we eat wholesome and healthy food which you are welcome to share but if you have special dietary requirements you are welcome to buy and cater for yourself.
We have bicycles which you may borrow to get around the town as well as a kayak to paddle the lake during your stay with us. We can also offer limited and reasonable internet wifi access as we are limited in our monthly usage. We can also lend you fishing rods and you can fish from the fishing platforms right in front of our house.

If you wish to stay with us please tell us as much as possible about yourself as we choose our guests carefully. Please ensure that you include in your profile a recent photo of yourself. Please indicate in your email the dates you propose to arrive and depart and how you intend getting here. We cannot assist with Australian visa requirements and we prefer to only take you for a minimum of one week and a maximum of two weeks. You should ensure that you have your own travel insurance cover as your stay with us is at your own risk. We cannot accept responsibility for any loss, injury or damage.
