Unleash your creative spirit at this funky and colourful hostel in a restored two-storey Victorian residence. Guests are encouraged to draw and paint, or create sweet soul music on the hostel's guitars, pianos, didgeridoo and African drums. With all that creative energy, there's definitely a laidback social vibe, and Chillawhile is one of NZ's best and most unique hostels.
3hrs per day Help exchange for accommodation, 10 day stays or 2 week stays available, Jobs involve cleaning, laundry, gardening, house maintenance, helping to make beds. You can work an extra half hour for 50mb WiFi voucher (we encourage it) this can be creative projects and not limited to 50mb

A great way to visit this region and Oamaru is by the Alps to Ocean Cycle Way starting at Aoraki Mount Cook and ending in Oamaru's Victorian Historic Precinct.

We have a 2 month help exchange position, This position comes up monthly, or less if our current staff stay longer - $100 pay per 7 shifts, there are bonus extras and you work as a team with one other in rotation 2 shifts on 2 shifts off. leaving 27 hours off duty between shifts.
