This is a community based hostel/bed and breakfast in the heart of the Mournes in Northern Ireland. It can have up to 31 people staying in it. It serves breakfast, packed lunches and evening meals when booked in advance. We cater for walkers, outdoors enthusiasts etc.

Summary of responsibilities:

1 To meet and greet guests on arrival and show them to their rooms.

2 To collect payment from guests.

3 To assist with breakfasts.

4 To collect keys from guests on departure.

5 To assist with cleaning of rooms after guests leave.

6 To ensure cleanliness is maintained throughout the building.

7 To inform guests about all things local e.g. events happening in the local community this could be discussed with the person in charge.

Helpers would be free to leave from approximately 12/12.30pm each day and return in the evening to meet guests.

Smoking is not permitted on the premises. The phone in the office will not be available except for an emergency for the helper. Food is provided and vegetarian meals are available. Breakfast would be available each morning but evening meals are not always provided except when ordered by guests. There is a self-catering kitchen where helpers could cater for extra food they wish to make for themselves. There is a small supermarket next door which will supply all their needs.

It would be better for the helper if they had an interest in the outdoors e.g. climbing, walking, hiking, mountain biking etc.

There is a rambler bus service available to take them all around the mountains and they could avail of this daily for ease of transport. They would not always need a car to stay with us.

There is a book in each of the bedrooms showing all local places of interest that the helper may wish to visit.
