If you are near Torino or even Milan, please stop by and help. It's easy to get here . . .
What will you get out of this? If you are looking to move back to the land, this is a great opportunity to see exactly what you need to do. It is a great cultural experience because the area has a lot Italian history that many people don’t know. The place is peaceful, it is sourrounded by chestnut trees and there are cascades nearby. There is a lot of natural beauty all around. It is close to a lovely small city and not too far from Torino (Turin).

What am I looking for? UNCOMPLICATED PEOPLE. If you have strict dietary requirements this is not the place for you. I am looking for persons who are are flexible and wish to enjoy being in the countryside and learn a few things. People who want to work hard and then relax and have fun. The house is a little rustic right now, but I will not make you sleep outside in a tent.

Helpers can stay inside my little stone house which has electricity and (only cold) running water, but we can always heat up some water to wash up. Sleeping arrangements are in simple single beds or inflatable mattresses.

The reason I bought these three houses is to set up a permaculture project in the future. It is located in a beautiful semi-abandoned settlement in the Cottian Alps where the houses are built out of stone. The roofs are made up of Pietra di Luserna which is a stone that is quarried nearby. The worksite has easy access to transportation since the houses are right on the main (paved) road. Bobbio Pellice is a 10-minute car ride; from this village there is bus service to other villages and to Pinerolo, a small beautiful city now Italy, but which used to be in France! Pinerolo connects by train to Torino (Turin). When the weather is nice, the area is full of cyclists and people who come to enjoy nature. The back of the property has a beautiful “green” with a spigot that brings cold, pure water from the mountains. Below, there is a torrent with natural waterfalls. The area is linguistically rich (Occitan, Piemontese, Italian and French) and is home to the Valdese (a group of religious people who practiced simple living and reading the bible on their own before Protestantism spread throughout Europe).
