Can you help us in 2018? Do you want to explore the Isle of Skye and the North West Highlands? Two people are needed from end of April and for May which is a lovely time of year here, we already have volunteers for March, June and August. Can you come in September? It would suit either two friends or a couple as space is limited. Ideally for a minimum of three weeks, preferably one month please. This year we have volunteers returning for a second time, which must be a recommendation!

One of you will need to speak some English as you will be dealing with members of the public visiting the garden. Read reviews of previous volunteers for a clearer picture!

Beautiful estate with large garden open to the public and four holiday cottages situated in wild country near the Isle of Skye. Garden open from April to October. Holiday cottages available for visitors from March.

Train station 2 minutes walk away. Limited internet available. Food is provided which you can choose yourself and you will cook for yourselves in your own kitchen.

Free self-contained good-quality accommodation (includes sitting room with kitchen, plus bathroom and separate bedroom) is on offer for two friends or a couple willing to carry out housework and gardening for 30 hours a week.

You would clean the DIY tearoom & toilets for garden visitors daily, help with greeting visitors at the Gatehouse so one of you really must speak some English and you may be helping with the gardening.

Monday & Tuesday free to explore local area as long as you're back by Wednesday afternoon. You two will be part of a team of, at least, 4 working in the gardens so you need to be a team worker.

You need to be: - honest & reliable
- self-motivated
- fit to do physical labour
- a non-smoker
- capable of working on your own
- happy with semi-secluded rural life
- keen to learn new gardening skills

For up to three days every week, you are free to explore the area. 30 minutes drive to the Isle of Skye and convenient for exploring North towards Applecross and Torridon. Minimum stay 3-4 weeks. You can walk for miles, go fishing, and borrow one of our bicycles. The nearest village is 15 minutes' drive and we shall give you a lift to the shops so you can choose your own food.

Previous volunteers recommend but please be aware it is a remote area with limited public transport. See photos below of the garden and the four holiday cottages across the field.
