HI
Three years ago we bought a 10 acre property on the East Coast of Tasmania within 35km of Freycinet National Park and the famous Wine Glass Bay and 10 km from the beautiful fishing village of Bicheno. Bicheno is the nearest service town with all the basic facilities. It also has several tourist attractions including a visit to the penguin rookeries well worth experiencing. The bus to Hobart goes past the door regularly and picks up and drops off 400 meters up the road at the Coles Bay information booth. (You need to check the timetable as it differs from day to day)

We are a vibrant mature couple who enjoy a challenge and so have taken on a big one here. We are easy going, accepting and happy to share our life skills with people willing to help set up a new venture.

The property currently has the beginning of our tearoom building and a smaller building that we currently operate the tearoom out off. We are building it up to eventually be a fully fledged tearoom and RV Stop Over spot. Since we have been here we have remodeled the tearoom from a produce stall, resurfaced the car park widened the entrance to the property and started the veggie patch.

Our first priority has been to get our business established and looking presentable. We are now focusing our energy on the next stage of developing the property into a full tearoom and RV Stop Over .

We like to think that our helpers become part of the family and are willing to help with the regular chores of the house in the morning.

Usually our day starts with breakfast around 7am when we plan the jobs for the day before the shop is opened at 8 am to customers. There is a list of jobs that needs to be done before we are ready for the day . These include. sweeping. mopping, rubbish removal, checking tearoom toilets and the like. After that there is work to do in the garden like weeding, mowing, or planting . When we get busy in the shop we need help in the kitchen and table service.

Each afternoon around 6pm we start to get ready for closing and need help to restock the shelves and clean up the equipment in the kitchen. At the end of the day we like to relax with a nice glass of wine and a few nibbles. Then we all help to cleanup after dinner.

We are especially in need of helpers with gardening experience and the ability to use outdoor equipment - such as a ride-on mower and weed eater.

We believe in getting jobs done but also in having fun doing it.

The accommodation we offer is one of our caravans, shared bathroom facilities and meals /snacks in exchange for 4 to 5 hours help per day. We are happy to have a single or a couple. We like to treat our helpers as family and while we work hard we try and give our visitors the chance to see the beautiful area we live in.

Self sufficient helpers with camper or caravan are also welcome.

We like to start with a week trial to ensure that both parties are happy even though you may be interested in a longer stay. We can negotiate this when you arrive.

Look forward to hearing from you
