Please read on if this is you; please also read our explanation of why our job may appear on the face of it to be 'discriminatory'.

A dream working holiday in Prague, Czech republic? Come work with us as a tour guide showing people the local bars and nightlife!
Prague is one of the most famous capital cities in the world for its party scene. Every year 100s of 1000s of tourists flock to this city to take in the magical sights and exquisite nightlife in the bars and clubs.

One of the most popular ways to take in these sites are 'bar crawls' or 'pub crawls', although the pub crawl offerings are a little 'low quality'.

We are currently in the formation phase of a new concept of 'Bar Tour' starting with the new tourist season, starting June 2015, and looking for tour hosts/promptersí to join us in our new venture.

What is the job of a tour host/promoter?

As a host/promoter your job will include finding customers for the tour, socialising with them at the pre tour meeting, and then accompanying them on their bar tour.

Your day is basically split into three elements;
First Element: walking around select tourist areas of Prague identifying potential customers and offering them to join our pre tour party. This is a simple, no pushy sales task of offering customers a wristband stamped with 'ONE FREE DRINK' and the bar address of the pre tour party and the time. This is from circa 11am-3pm.
Second element: Pre tour party: At the pre tour party you will identify the customers who you met earlier in the day and talk with them some more. In an informal setting, you will ask them if they wish to join one of our bar tours and show then the different options and sell them the package. This takes place from 9PM-10PM.

From 10PM-2AM our tours run and you have the chance to join the tour as a guide. There will always be a 'tour leader' who is more experienced. As a guide you will simply be there to interact with the customer and have fun yourself. You will be allowed 5 free drinks during the tour if you choose to join it.
Joining the actual tour is not compulsory, and not classed as 'work'. However the First and second element is expected 5 days a week, with a 3 day shift, a day off, then a 2 day shift, and a day off.

Accommodation: You will be accommodated in an apartment in central Prague with your other tour guides, in a bunk room with 4 people in the room, all the same gender. This apartment is within walking and tram distance of all the major Prague sights.
Training: All staff receive a basic medical training package, self defence training/how to deal with awkward situations and sales experience.
Equipment: All staff are given t-shirt/hoodies/etc branded with our logo which are theirs to keep. They are loaned a Torch(Flashlight) medical kit, pepper spray, and 2 way radio/work phone.
Food: Breakfast and lunch are provided plus 5 'tokens' a day for drinks/food that you can use in the evening.
Tips: All tips that customers give on the tours to the guides get pooled into a common tip jar and are saved up to pay for a group day out for the bar tour staff, for example, a paintballing day, a visit out of town to a tourist attraction, a meal out, etc.

You will be a lively, active and real world sociable person, able to easily interact with people around you and make them feel comfortable in your presence.
You must be a team player and put the needs and wishes of the team above your own personal comfort sometimes.
You must be a good sales person; ideally with previous sales experience or a profession/study that requires interaction with people. If you have a qualification in event management or hospitality you are especially welcome.
You must NOT be a social media addict; in work time, you are expected to leave your personal smart phone at home and only carry your work phone which is a non smart phone. This job requires real world interaction, and will put of customers if you are talking to them whilst texting someone else. Social media addicts NEED NOT APPLY, and you will be dismissed if we feel your social media habit/internet addiction makes the team suffer.
Ideally you will speak more than one language; German, French, Russian, Italian are preferred second languages as it broadens our customer base if we have bilingual hosts.
We especially welcome applications from people who have completed any military service.

If you find after one month that you wish to continue your stay and you show yourself to be exemplary, and should it be available, the position of 'line manager' will be offered to you. This is a paid position and involves interacting with the bars and clubs on your 'line', pay invoices, cash handling, staff management, and generally a position of responsibility. So only the best tour guides will be offered this position.

Plain and simple, the bar promotion industry standard is to use a female face to attract customers to join tours- men are more likely to talk to a young female who stops to offer them a free drink, and women feel less threatened by another female stranger offering them an item.

We do not want to attract drama into our work; insecure boyfriends who are unhappy that their girlfriends are 1000s of miles away parting every night and the relationship stresses of long distance relationships, can create a stressful environment in an otherwise fun atmosphere. No one wants to be around the girl who is constantly at the back of the bar explaining to her boyfriend where she is, or receiving angry calls during the day asking her to explain who was 'that guy' in the photo from the bar posted on our website. Although not all relationships are like this, we would prefer our applicants to have no commitments/baggage simply for this fact.

For the first 3 days of your stay we will be training you for the job. We train every member of staff in basic first aid, expect them to know the town, shadow a tour, and really get the feel of the job before you start to do it yourself. It is not efficient for us to have short stays as more time would be spent in training than actual work.
