Thank you for your interest. We have opportunities from mid-February. Please contact us for details.

We are developing a large garden on our 7 ha block near Featherston, Wairarapa. This is 1 hour north of Wellington.

We are looking for help with gardening and property maintenance. It is outdoor work. We have established native trees and areas of garden to maintain. There is a kitchen garden. Other garden areas are under development.

You will be involved in helping to grow food, planting trees, looking after established trees, weeding, cutting grass, working in the shade house, propagating plants ... The list goes on. (We also have some construction and painting projects if that is your skill.) You will be able to choose jobs from our list that suit your skills and experience levels. We also think it is important for you to be able to choose different things to do rather than the same thing over and over.

In return for us providing your food and accommodation we expect from each person 5 hours of work for each night you stay at our place.

We are looking for a couple or 2 people who are prepared to work independently. You must be able to work without direct supervision.

We prefer people who are able to spend a minimum of 1 to 2 weeks at our place. We are open to considering longer-term visitors. You really should have your own transport by the way as we are approximately 4 km from town.

We have very comfortable accommodation for you in a self-contained studio unit. Power is supplied off the grid and we have gas for cooking and for hot water. There is a wonderful cozy fireplace to keep everything warm.

There are sheep and hens on the property along with lots of native bird life. It is a very peaceful environment.

Nearby is a river with a swimming hole and there are walks on nearby Department of Conservation land. There are lots of other activities for visitors to the region within an hour of our place. The Wairarapa is a great place to relax.
