SUMMER IS HERE! You are welcome to come help in the orchard and in the vegetable garden, in the house & around: picking tomatoes, fighting snails (peacefully!), doing housework, or repairing an old caravan...

We are a group of people living at a community farm close to the Austrian-Hungarian border. We have a vegetable garden and another 4 hectares of fruit garden, vinery and grains. What else keeps us busy? Pruning fruit trees, construction work, political activism, renting out parts of the house to groups & activists for their workshops. And mMost of us work part time in the city of Vienna.

We welcome guests & helpers from March on.
You are very welcome to bring your kids!

In summer and fall we usually have lots of guests who hang out or help with various tasks. The village is bilingual (Croatian, German) and there's a train station nearby to go to Sopron (Hungary) or Vienna. Furthermore you can go hiking or collecting mushrooms at the Gschriebenstein mountains or take a bike tour to the surrounding thermal spas.

When it's cold, there is more repair and construction stuff to do (and less people around), in summer and fall there's lots of work in the garden etc. You are also always welcome to help out in the house with cleaning, cooking, repairing little things. There's also plenty of time to relax, sleep, read, go for a bike ride or take a trip to a nearby swimming lake.

We are trying to share work in a not so traditional way, especially concerning gender roles. We happily teach you stuff but are also glad if you bring your knowledge and skills and independently find yourself tasks that you like.

We speak English, French, Spanish, German, Czech and some bits and pieces of other languages (we are happy to learn more!).

To stay and work here happily, you'll need a bit of an independent spirit, because we do like to do things together a lot but also happen to work on our own, plus, as all of us partly work in the city, you might spend some days at the farm on your own. And we can offer you your own room with shared bathroom, but it might happen that you will have to change to another one during your stay.

Possible tasks: building, woodwork, repair work, cooking, cleaning, gardening of all kind, harvesting and processing

Note to future guests: If you send us a message saying you would like to come visit, please be so kind and let us know if you happen to change your mind. It happens quite often that we answer people's requests and never hear back from them; if we know whether and when you would like to come, it makes it easier for us to plan the year. Don't worry if you change your plans, just let us know. Thank you!
