We are in rural Pembrokeshire, south west Wales - one of the most beautiful and interesting areas in the UK, with lots of old castles, lovely sandy beaches and rolling countryside. It is about 4 miles from Tenby and 8 Miles from Pembroke, and with beaches within 20 minutes walk. If you have a car you will have much more freedom to explore, however there is a bus service about ten minutes walk away, and a train station about 20 minutes if you enjoy walking and the coast - this is the place to be!

Our house is set in about two acres - divided into garden, paddock and rough land. We have a demanding 9 month old pup, two retired horses and a cat so being an animal lover is essential as you may be asked to look after the dog and muck out the horses, The dog is still in training so don't expect perfect manners...most pups can be annoying at times, and she is a big pup! Also quite bossy, so you need to be a very confident person to deal with her.

There is a variety of work to do here - much of which is outside

Jobs will include:
- maintaining garden - mowing and strimming, hedge trimming and a bit of weeding
- We also have a small plot of land that we are re-claiming from mother nature! Although we have already made considerable headway ourselves, it still needs a lot of work to landscape it in a natural way, put down grass seed, dig out brambles, and making a few natural features, etc.
- we also plan the construction of a compost toilet and possibly a solar shower - if you are resourceful and creative and can work with wood, re-use and recycle, to make something beautiful then we would really like to get this project underway

Jobs may also include
- general handiwork around the property
- painting, decorating
- wood chopping
- propagation
- light housework

This would suit fit people, of either gender, who enjoy being outside and don't mind working alone.

Being Confident with animals is essential as you may be on puppy duty or have to work in the field where there are horses! If you are motivated, honest, hard working, friendly, flexible, reliable and a non smoker, then we would love to hear from you. Preference will be given to those with some experience in fairly heavy garden work, general house maintenance and carpentry. A good understanding of basic English would be helpful.

In return for a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 4 hours work a day, you are offered bed and breakfast accommodation in our comfortable and pretty home however we can be flexible in how that works - for example if you would like to work a full day occasionally, I will ensure that you will have all meals provided. We can also be flexible with the timetable sometimes according to helpXers plans for their free time. You will be assured of good company and help with your English if you would like it.

We have either a single room available only. The bathroom is shared and there is wifi available. We are not vegetarian, however most meals are without meat...but always tasty!

Please specify when you are available to start. Ideally a minimum of two weeks commitment required. Please email for more information.

We look forward to hearing from you!
