This is a new development of converting an old Oamaru Stone Church into a home. This project is in the early stages of developing the Church and land using ecological permaculture principles, with the ultimate goal of becoming self sustainable.
An opportunity is also offered to those interested in a Permaculture Design Certificate Internship.
This project is situated among various farming activities such as Dairy [Cow & Goat], sheep and cropping surrounded by the Kakanui mountains. There are various ongoing projects such as: mud brick making and earth building, earthship tyre retaining walls, future accommodation areas, veggie gardens, and establishing guilds for the food forest building a hen house, live willow fences and other structures.
Learning opportunities, Weaving with willow, cheese making, various methods of preserving food, propagation and other permaculture and ecological design and living principles.
There is also an opportunity for learning with the other local farms in the area including water diving.

Accommodation and food [mostly vegetarian] is being offered for approx 4 hours of work. Breakfast and lunch is help yourself to the pantry, the evening meal is prepared and shared.
I am happy with 1 day work and one day off or other arrangements as negotiated with food offered for the days off. The Church is 24 Km South west of Oamaru with travel options into town when needed.
