We are a boutique bed and breakfast set in a Victorian mansion house in the small village of Craigellachie in the heart of Speyside. Both the Malt Whisky Trail and the Speyside Way walking trail pass through Craigellachie.

The lodge is owned by Jodi and Scott who work in Aberdeen and stay at the lodge part of the week and run by Jo who lives on site.

We offer a relaxing spot for those exploring the area and there is a lot to explore with both the coast and Cairngorms only 30 minutes away. From the lodge it is easy to visit a huge number of whisky distilleries, castles, historic mills and picturesque towns. For the more active there are some great mountain biking trails, the River Spey - famous for salmon fishing- which is also possible to kayak on and there are numerous outdoor activity centres offering quad biking, clay pigeon shooting and many other things.

This year we are hoping to find someone with building/DIY experience to finish a few of the refurbishment jobs. We are especially looking for an electrician to add extra plug sockets and wire a couple of ceiling lights. In return we can offer use of all facilities the house & garden offer and accommodation in one of our guest rooms plus meals and lifts to local places & towns when available.

When the lodge reopens in April of next year we will be looking for more general helpers. Duties will fall into either Service/Cooking/Laundry/Housekeeping or Receptions shifts or a combination of them.

Service Duties This would consist of either breakfast waiting or working in the small guest bar.

Cooking Duties To prep for and cook breakfast for up to 11 people over the 2 hour breakfast period including full Scottish breakfasts.

Housekeeping Duties This would mostly include the cleaning to our 4 star standard (bed changing, cleaning bathrooms, hoovering, changing lightbulbs etc).

Laundry Duties While most linen is sent to a professional laundry some washing is done on site Towels, pillowcases napkins need to be washed, pressed and folded.

Reception Duties - Welcoming guests and showing them the lodge and to their rooms, booking taxis and tours.

We are looking for people who are
- friendly and happy to chat with our guests about their plans
- a team worker
- honest & reliable
- a non-smoker
- a self starter
- happy with rural life

For general helpers we will be looking for 5 hours work per day 5 days a week but this can be flexible to give more time off if you plan on visiting other parts of Scotland for a few days. In return you will receive your own room and food.
