We love having couples at Happy Tails. Its a wonderful opportunity for those who are serious dog lovers to come and feel at home. Our kitchen is well stuffed and you can use a cash weekly allotment to pick up your prefered fresh foods.

We are located in beautiful Muskoka. Here at Happy Tails Pet Resort we abound with dogs in 12 different dog parks and dog playground areas. During the summers they enjoy running, playing, swimming ...chasing chipmunk, hunting frogs in our large open fully fenced dog parks. In the winter we groom trails in their dog parks as well as break new ones via snow shoe to tired the dogs out. This is an exclusive pets only resort, with lots of beautiful winter wonderlands and in the summer beautiful flower and vegetable gardens, ponds, woodland trails, etc.

We are in the heart of Muskoka, minutes from world renown Algonquin Provincial Park. Muskoka is the National Cottage Country capitol with over a 1,000 pristine lakes and over 50 Lakeside Resorts. Our property is located in the springfed hilltop kettle lakes supplying fresh water to Lake of Bays. Just steps away from us are 4 small lakes with blue heron rookeries, where moose, white tail deer and other wildlife come for a drink. Those who love watching wildlife in their natural habitat will love it. We often see snapping turtle, snakes and the occasional fox, wolf or spider for the those who need to prepare their inner fortitude.

There are lots of hiking trails you can simply walk out and enjoy. You can explore nearby towns and villages such as Huntsville,Baysville, Port Sydney, Dorset, etc or be refresh spending time at beaches or waterfalls park areas.

We don't have as many projects during the winter but we will be needing some help shovelling snow and helping keep our new skijoring & snow shoe trails packed; and next spring to help us with new dog sports/endurance trails, parks and dog accommodations. Exciting, fun stuff, but lots of physical work. Construction skills and good physical condition helps.

We have bikes and a second house in Huntsville that is on a lake and walking distance to all the fun things in town, including Algonquin Outfitters where you can rent canoes, kayaks and water boards from the down town dock, slip into a pub or coffee shop. Its a great spot to spend some down time. During the winter there is an amazing ice track you can ice skate for 3 Kilometres at Arrowhead Park... and nearby Hidden Valley has a great down hill skiing.

We recommend arranging to have your Internationals Drivers license. And we do prefer longer stays.

We are keen on finding persons with good reception experience to help with the office area answering the phones, checking guests in and out, working on the computers.

Food is excellent, we do a lot of vegetarian dishes, but not 100%; we can supply fresh farm eggs, fish, etc. We have a lot of the extras that vegans love. We are open to new culinary talents.

Make sure you take a little time out before you travel to get your International Driver's license. Sometimes we can lend you a vehicle but our insurance requires an International Driver's license.

Be sure to check out our website and facebook. We have lots of photographs and its a great way to learn some of the dogs' names that you will get to know during your stay.

Note: Currently we are looking for WorkX guests from April on. We are expecting new Work X guests to arrive by Valentine's Day and they are scheduled to stay until the end of March. Be sure to contact us for your upcoming travels, and it doesn't hurt to ask, maybe we have a spot for you to rough it in CottageDOG country too.
