If you like beef and beers, sheep and sunny Outback Queensland days, then we are the station and host family for you! Our station is located about 1 hours drive from Longreach. (Longreach is 1,400kms west of Brisbane in Queensland) and can be reached by bus, train or air via Qantaslink.

We are in our mid 40s, love life, have four children under the age of 16 who are home during holidays but away at boarding school during the school term. We work hard but also play hard at times too. We will supply your meals and your own separate air conditioned sleeping and bathroom/toilet facilities in a stand alone “donga” within the homestead garden.

The work you will experience varies every day. You will experience mustering sheep and cattle both on the ground using motor bikes and four wheelers and aerial mustering also. There are many types of work for you to experience other than just mustering, eg,: maintaining or building new fences, checking water troughs and tanks, dams and bores on the station, feeding stock, yarding and drafting stock and general handling and management of stock and various pieces of plant and equipment eg., loader, grader and tractor. Some days will be long and very busy and hectic whilst other days are very relaxed and pretty laid back, each day is different. We can guarantee that you will be treated like one of the family and certainly not a stranger or a slave. We have a saying here ‘one in, all in” and this applies to any of our staff/workers. You can experience many outback adventures during your stay such as races, rodeos, rugby, fishing and general touring about as there are many varied opportunities and experiences for you to sample and tourist attractions. We would prefer a non smoker. Any time of the year is fine but do know that November to January is always the hottest time of the year (temperatures about 30 degrees to 40 degrees) whereas June to August is more mild/cooler (between say 20 degrees to 28 degrees). We are a welcoming family who own and operate our two properties and would love to meet you if you have a positive and happy nature and would like to experience this type of lifestyle for a little while.
