We run a sustainable sheep and agroforestry farm in the Otway Ranges in south western Victoria. Our ethos is to try to restore the natural ecosystems on the farm while still being able to run sheep and practice agroforestry. We have now planted over 40000 trees and revegetated nearly 20% of our property. We have an organic garden and use as few chemical sprays around our farm as we can. Our daughter and her partner are natural builders and are currently building a Cob studio on the property, using recycled and earth materials from our farm and locally. We are passionate about living sustainably, health, the environment, family and our community. We also grow native cut flowers and bush foods. We have been members of the Wwoofing scheme for 15 years and love having people from all corners of the world to stay for a cross cultural exchange, people who stay with us are treated as members of the family. Jobs to be done are stock work (such as drenching, moving sheep, helping with shearing, fencing, working on the Cob house, gardening, helping feed animals - dogs chickens, sheep, horses and lambs) We love it if our guests like to cook and show us their favourite foods from their place in the world. We love music and our community is very musical and arty. In good weather we do some bush walking, if you have your own transport we are only 25minutes from the Great Ocean Rd and lots of good beaches. We live in the beautiful Otway Ranges surrounded by bush and lots of wildlife, Jill is a wildlife carer so often has a native baby she is looking after. The accommodation is on the mezzanine floor of a barn next to our house, bathroom facilities in the main house. We have a minimum of one week stay.
