Update - Join us for an Australian Christmas and New Year! We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our family and to help us out during this festive and busy time of year. Stay for a month or longer and we can help with the cost of your travel.
*If you come with your own transport, we may be able to help you find paid work on the side while you volunteer with us.
Welcome to Kangaroo Island!
Our 35 acre property is in a beautiful location on the Kangaroo Island tourist trail, quite close to the famous Seal Bay Conservation Park, Raptor Domain, & Various other attractions.
Here we have guest self contained cabins and hostel accommodation, a fully licensed restaurant/cafe, and a heritage-listed reception and gift shop building (Kangaroo Island's original Post Office).
We love having volunteers from around the world to help us with the daily tasks here.
Help Exchange Duties: Depending on your skills, may involve Cooking, Cleaning, Making Coffees and Helping around our Cafe, as well as Housekeeping Duties, Mowing & Gardening, Painting & Light Maintenance Work.
In exchange for this help, we are happy to provide Meals & Accommodation and WiFi we can also provide a pushbike for cycling to the local attractions.
We encourage long-term stays and can help with the ferry fare back when you choose to stay for One Month or more.
Kangaroo Island is a Nature lovers Paradise with spectacular National Parks an abundance of wild life with Seal Bay Cottages even accommodating a few resident Koalas. This year The Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail was voted In the top 3 of things to See for 2017 by National Geographic.
We are located about 30 minutes from the main town, Kingscote, 7 minutes from Seal Bay, and 10 minutes from the gorgeous Vivonne Bay beach, 40 min from Flinders Chase National Park.
* Note mobile phone service on Kangaroo Island is patchy as most of remote areas in Australia are. Best coverage is provided by Telstra, or budget services such as Boost Mobile which use the Telstra network.
How to Get Here:
You can buy a ticket to Kingscote on Kangaroo Island from the Adelaide Central Bus Station that will include the ferry (from Cape Jervis to Penneshaw) or by air (from Adelaide to Kingscote). If you let us know your plans in advance we can help you find the best price fares.
This is a great opportunity to be on Kangaroo Island, enjoy learning new skills and being part of a friendly team in a very peaceful, natural environment.
