Hi Welcome to Dove Farm, we are an eco project within a larger eco project !

We are lovingly restoring this abandoned quinta, it has a stone farm house, a small barn/workshop and another small stone building as well as three large fields, and a small woodland. There is also an amazing water mine and various wells. The woodland was planted around 40 years ago, we are currently in the process of regenerating it with native trees and nurturing the oaks, chestnut, wild cherry and hawthorn that already growing. Our plan is to create a mixed broadleaf woodland, encouraging the native tree species, fauna and flora.
In the summer of 2016 we plan to start the build on a 10 meter straw bale round house, (which we now have planning permission ! this will be the focal point for the retreat centre. This is part of our vision to create a nature based sanctuary for visitors, offering space for workshops, events and gatherings.
We are also building a wooden therapy dome and plan to improve and develop the eco camping area by renovating one of the stone buildings into a communal kitchen and providing more tipis and tents. We have recently constructed a straw bale bathroom roundhouse that includes a compost toilet.
Also this summer 2016 we are renovating the existing granite stone farm house. We also now have planning permmission for a small straw bale eco house.
We have recently erected a beautiful 6 meter Mongolian yurt, and are in the process of landscaping the area around it. Another exciting development is the Watsu therapy swimming pool which we have just purchased and we look forward to constructing within an 8 meter dome, just in time for the hot summer days !
Trevor enjoys to work in a team and has many years experience of living off grid on his organic olive farm in Southern Spain. Jasmine is inspired by being able to offer opportunities to others to grow and learn or just 'be', through connection to the earth on this tranquil farm in the mountains of central Portugal.
Trevor is a tai chi practitioner and course facilitator with many years experience in these fields. Jasmine is a bodywork therapist specialising in shiatsu and cranio sacral therapy. She has also teaches bodywork and yoga. They also like to play music, especially traditional celtic music.
We can offer our volunteers comfortable accomodation in one of our caravans and in the summer we also have tents and tipis. We provide good quality vegetarian food three times a day and fresh water from our own spring. We can offer hot showers from our wood fired shower, (or cold ones if needed in the summer heat). Occasionally we can take you on an excursion to neighbouring towns and sites of interest, and have selection of bicycles to borrow in your free time. There is also the option of a morning yoga or tai chi class a few times a week.
